Re: Diamond Custom Seats
I agree. That's why I'm hoping that the Diamond for the GL1500 is as good as it was on my GL1100. It's a different style for sure but I'm hoping for the best.

Re: Diamond Custom Seats
The only thing is it won't ship to me until the end of June/early July. So I just have to wait. LOL Thanks for your input.

Re: Diamond Custom Seats
Thanks for the reply. I guess it is a dumb question to ask because everybody's butt and body are different. I have an Ultimate seat on the bike now and it is not near as comfortable as I remember the Diamond Custom I had on my '83. Better than stock but still not good enough for me. I didn't buy it ...

Diamond Custom Seats
I may be doing this a little backward but today I finally talked myself into a new Diamond Custom seat for my GL1500. I had a 1983 Aspencade for 25 years and had a Diamond Custom on it for 24 of those years. I loved that seat. Of course, when I bought the 1500 the seat wouldn't fit. I've been throug...

Re: Front speaker help!
I bought the 501's from Amazon and they were crap. I thought I was getting them from Polk but I didn't pay attention to the seller. It wasn't Polk. I emailed Polk and they told me since the 501's aren't made anymore, ones I find are either old stock or refurbished or both. As you said, installed in ...

Re: GL 1500 seat upholstery
My new seat arrived today! A few observations: - it's clearly an OEM Honda seat, but the upholstery fit isn't quite as nice & tight as the original. There are plainly visible baggy spots & wrinkles that are clearly there to stay. Perhaps that will help it to not split, but it doesn't look q...

Re: How much risk is too much risk?
Well, it sure does seem to be important. So when did people start thinking that a phone call could not wait maybe 30 minutes for a reply? Are we really that important? Also, just try to find a pay phone these days. Cell phones made them obsolete.

Re: How much risk is too much risk?
The wife and I, along with our friends think about these things every time we head out, but the pleasure and fun we have is worth the risk. We've rode the Dragons Tail, The Bourbon trail here in Kentucky, along with many other road trips. We are constantly looking out for dangers on the road all th...

Re: How much risk is too much risk?
Erie, PA is the same way. I-90 runs through it with a speed limit of 65 (70 in Ohio) on either side, but for 12 miles through Erie, for no good reason, it drops to 55 mph - and you can guess exactly where the police sit and run their radar traps. I second that, when you come towards town from the e...

Re: GL 1500 seat upholstery
I know I'm late to the party here but I was wondering how things turned out for you. I, too, bought a new Honda seat on eBay for my 1989. The bike had 66000 miles and the original seat just didn't work for me anymore. The new seat was better but still wasn't what I consider comfortable. Maybe it's j...

Re: How much risk is too much risk?
I have a question. There's a lot of them, but I do have one in particular. I like to think that I know where everyone is coming from, in regards to their take on this very complex issue. "How much risk is too much risk?" That's a very good question. I seem able to answer it only, with ano...

ALWAYS carefully do your homework before ordering. Opened is installed. IMO, case closed. I always buy from Cyclemax and have never been "wronged".

I'm retired. I don't do anything "for a living". Now I'm just living.

Re: Cleaning vented windshield?
Well, I had my windshield off to mess with new speakers. When I put it back on I set it as high as it would go. More room now and I think it's gonna work just fine. Thanks to all.

Re: How to remove and replace your timing belts
The black marks on the T-P lines on the pulleys. Are they factory marks or has someone changed the belts before and marked them? Going to do mine soon and curious as to what I will find. Thanks

1989 Exhaust
Will the exhaust/mufflers from a 1993 Wing fit my 1989 Wing? They look the same but not sure if Honda changed anything.

Re: Chrome clutch and brake levers
I have NEVER bought a set of aftermarket levers that did not need shimming or grinding to get the flats to actuate the microswitches properly. Yep, I'm getting that. I'm not interested in doing that. I know I would probably screw it up and that would just be a waste of time and money. Thanks to all.

Re: Chrome clutch and brake levers
Yep...after lots of looking around I've decided to stick with my stock ones. Chrome isn't that important to me. Thanks to all.
