haven't a clue, my DCT locks fine? Hope someone with a six speed can help
I assume it's an electronic glitch, will need to run codes or track down a short, etc.

Re: Honda disgraced themselves with the 2018 Goldwing

For Cripes Sake, give it a rest- you don't like it? So don't buy it. I had a gl1500 and it was OK, had a ST1300 and it was OK, this new GW is exactly like those 2 mated and had an offspring. It's exactly what I was looking for. I've had a myriad of bikes from scooters to Adv bikes to cruisers, to Be...

FWIW, if you get the locked out message, you can push the back arrow on the left control to get to the previous screen

Putting the DCT to the test

1000 mile ride through some of the best twisties and sweepers Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks had to offer, and, I've gotta tell you the DCT got a helluva workout. It was pure bliss just shifting up and down with my finger and thumb-hardly needed to brake at all-soooo smooth. Everyone else ...

Re: 2018 service manual

I think I'll order it before the next service is due. BTW, I see there are 2 drain plugs-1 for the crankcase and 1 for the DCT, but only 1 fill hole. If they're connected, why can't they drain out of one spot-which ever is lower?

GPS default

Anyone have a fix to stop the GPS functions from being disabled when moving? All my other GPS's allow me to choose if I want it to stop allowing input when moving.

OK, Mother Honda called me back- and told me to use the level after the bike is warm, shut it off, check the reading after "a few minutes" so that's what I'll do

Wow! Did we ride the same bike? I've got nearly 4000 miles on mine and love the DCT! and no buffeting at all, handles much better- joy to ride. Sorry you didn't get along. We test road the DCT Tour. Positives. Nice paint, modern appearance, plastic and fit and finish was better, nicer hinges and har...

Re: oil level

OK, the manual says run it for a few minutes, then check the oil level after letting it sit 2-3 minutes. Yup, and the level on the dipstick (yes bike is on the center stand and the dipstick is only resting on the threads-not screwed in) is above the upper line. But let it sit for a few hours and it...

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

Nav is total BS. Can only enter 8 waypoints; Can't manipulate it when moving- can't even stop routing without stopping the bike; if you miss a waypoint to get gas or decide on a little detour-will not direct you to next waypoint-continually re-routes you back to the missed point or the route start; ...

Re: throttle by wire

So, I went to the dealer and checked out 6 different wings-all had about the same amount of play. When I talked to service manager and head mechanic and showed them the issue, they were astounded nobody else had pointed that out. They were immediately on the phone to the area rep asking him to get i...

throttle by wire

found a second thing about the 2018 that I don't like-1st is the nav system; 2nd is the throttle grip. The throttle by wire works fine, but the forward, backward, up and down excessive play is driving me batty! The rotational free play is fine, but when you push, pull, lift or press on the grip when...
