Re: Correct Synthetic Oil Use

I have a 1990 GW1500 with 120k on it . I use Moble 1 oil and every 3500 miles I take an oil sample . I change the oil filter every other sample as long as the oil comes back good.Of course changing the filter takes out the bad particles, and keeping an eye one the level helps the clutches. I use oil...

You can patch into the air hoses behind the panel that the rocker switch is mounted to that allows you to add or release air from the shocks.

Re: 1990 GW Hard starting when hot

How is the condition of the rubber mat that is over the engine? The one on my 88 is falling apart and needs to be replaced. My bike does the same thing as yours when the air temp is above 85 degrees and sits for more than 10 to 15 minutes. If it sits for more than an hour, no problems starting. It ...

1990 GW Hard starting when hot

Hello all! I have a problem with my trike, it starts fine when cold, I have installed new glass battery, new spark plugs, all new vacuum and fuel lines, 40k on timing belt, checked and cleaned all connections on battery, the only thing I can find is when trying to start when hot is it acts like the ...

Re: 9/11 Never Forget

I know that a third building did fall, but I'm not really sure on the details. From what I know, it was a smaller building that had been evacuated earlier, and debris from the other two towers had started fires in that building. I think it was building #5. Like I said, I am not sure how true any of ...

Squirrel, Thank You for making such a long trek to honor those who died on 9/11.I have yet to see the New York site, but in Upper Michigan we will still honor and pray or and remember at our little site. FM-USA I agree, I have seen so many cheesy ads that somehow included 9/11 but had nothing to do with any part of it, the people involved, or the services needed from that day forward. One of the realities of being an EMT is realizing we can't fix stupid! LOL!!

9/11 Never Forget

As we approach the 15 year anniversary of the attacks on American soil, I invite everyone to take a moment to remember; This is the reason so many of our service people have fought in two different wars and died. We are still fighting and dying today. This is the reason the TSA had to implement so m...

Re: Total Loss in Louisiana

I did volunteer a little during some hurricane aftermaths, and I understand what you are going thru. I have seen debris piles at dump sites that were 40ft tall and 150 yards long. The aftermath is the bad part, no water, fires when electricity is turned back on, varments around debris in the lawns, ...

Re: Battery Drain will not charge

I put it right off the battery. I used a heavy duty switch, not a toggle switch as it would not handle the amps. But you can wire it into either the trunk or a saddle depending on the shortest route as you have to use heavy wire and it is not cheap. Most people don't have any room left in the front w...

Re: Battery Drain will not charge

Just a thought, if your maps are flashing when the key is off then is that your drain? Could it be as simple as unplugging something? On some other applications I have installed a master switch but you would have to reset your radio stations every time you used the master switch. Just a suggestion!

Re: Bike died

Last year I bought a new battery from a well known big box store that is 20 miles from my house. Got it, filled it with acid , put a charge on it overnight, installed it, and no good. I have my own tester and sure nuf, no good! Took it back, got another one, did this four times!! Finally went to a H...

Re: '79 Throttle response issue

I know that you have done a lot of work to the carbs, but I would try some fuel additive to clean out any gunk left in the system. I do this every first tank of fuel, even tho I use a stabilizer during storage. The engine is a little stubborn during that first tank, but when I get fresh fuel on boar...

Re: clutch master cylinder snap ring is stuck

That seal is a wiper seal and keeps dirt from going into the system, and an easy way to tell which way a seal is to be installed is by looking at the seal; the wire ring goes toward the fluid or pressure side.I hope this helps.

Re: Slight front wheel wobble

I was going to suggest the swingarm but WingAdmin beat me to it! The only time that I have had the " Death Wobble" which is what it would be at hi-way speeds, was with cupping in the front tire. The tread looks fine, but for some reason it starts to cup and once it starts, nothing you can do but get...

Re: cruise control not working, but set and cruise lights do.

I have had it happen that I take off the center panel for whatever reason, but if you happen to twist it the wrong way when you put it back on the cruze will not work. So then you have to go back, take it back off, try to twist it back the other way, then put everything back together. And you don't ...

Re: 93 Goldwing smokes

I have owned two 1500s and a 1200 and the last 1500 is now a trike with 118,000 miles on it and of course it does not lean when parked, but when started you get a few seconds of condensation burning off of the exhaust. All of the bikes did it so if that is what you are talking about, it's nothing to...

If i'm reading your question right, you are asking about the thermal switch. You know that the fans work because you grounded the thermal wire and the fans turned on. the problem that you are having is overheating, in which case the switch would be bad. as long as you have voltage up to the switch.C...

Re: Right turn signal lights on continously

I've had that problem before and even tho it was hard to find, turned out to be a bad ground. Somewhere, something is back feeding to your turn signal circuit. You may have to disconnect the light from the harness, if that shows no improvement, I have seen trouble from the trailer connection, if you...
