Re: Who Never Wears A Helmet

I was heading home with my wife just the other day when we heard on the news: local Harley rider, coming to a stop at a corner, lost his balance and dropped the bike. Passenger OK. Rider killed, after hitting his head on the curb as he fell. No helmet. That post alone makes it a simple choice. Here...

Re: Heated grips controller on GL1500 - where to mount it?

I have a pair of Oxford heated grip purchased for my bride's Silverwing. Will they fit the bars on my GL1500?

Re: DO NOT PURCHASE METZLER TIRES !

Can't disagree with the OP more. I have 2 Wings and a Harley Road King. I run Metzler ME880's on them all and could not be happier. I originally changed to these tyres on the recommendation of a local bike dealership owner who ran them on his ST1100 some 15 years or so back. They wear well, are grea...

Re: Please tell who or what made you buy a Goldwing

Familiar stories on here. I bought my 1800 for my wife to ride pillion as her health was failing to the point where she could not handle her Silverwing safely and my 1500 was laid up in the shed and broken. That was in 2011. She has now deteriorated to the point where she is even unable to ride pill...

Yes I've done my 1800. I'll keep searching. Thank you all for your response.

GL1500 Handlebars need to move back

Gidday all,
I have a 20th Anniversary Aspencade and I need to move the bars back up to 2" if possible to take the load off my ageing shoulders. Is anyone able to point me in the direction of an off the shelf modification to achieve this end please?

Re: GWRRA Members ???

There is no chapter in Oz, but there is one in NZ (?). I belong to GWRRA, and do not receive too many benefits from being a member and am considering the future options when re-up is due in June 2016. I too am in South Australia. I was a member of the GWRRA Aussie mob in the 90's but it's all falle...

Yo, WINGER3....just because you have traded the Wing for a Valkyrie is no reason to desert the fold, mate. You still have the Honda and it has the Gold Wing power plant. I doubt it would matter if you went back to a smaller Honda. You're still one of us.

Here's a snippet from the HD Australia Forum. A bit of a joke really! Tyre pressures too high in my experience. I run 36 front and 41 rear. Works well for me with or without pillion. Spirited riding solo still handles well.

Re: Goldwing Wannabes

The people who say, it is not a bike. It is a motorcycle. Do not have any knowledge of the history of where they came from. They were in the beginning a motorized bicycle. So when you say nice bike. You are going back to the time when they were the real deal. The other thing is the attitude of Harl...

Re: 2015 Goldwing (40th Anniversary) disappointment

The problem with technology on bikes (and cars) is that it is long obsolete by the time it gets to market. I hate to say it, but they would almost be better off creating a Goldwing "app" that you run on a phone, and sticking the phone in the dash. Let it do the navigation, radio, Bluetooth, whateve...

I have three bikes so knocking up the miles/kilometres is pretty steady. Are you getting the 40th anniversary to? Ya gotta keep your trend goin...

Service manual - not for GL but for Silverwing

G'day,
My wife rides a Silverwing and I'm after a site from which I am able to download (free if possible) a service/repair manual for an FJS 600. Can anyone help please?

I also like the BMW but hang out at the BMW forum and you will quickly discover the expensive maintenance and reliability issues that come with the BMW. Most seem ok with thousands it cost when the ABS goes out or when the final drive, brake lines, oil seals and so on fail. It all seems common and ...
