Re: what do you use to lift your trike for service and inspection

I bought a 1300 lb trike lift last year from www.bestbuyautoequipment.com. It will lift the trike 38 inches, dont know how I managed without it.

Re: Seat uncomfortable.

My seat was really hurting my thighs a lot on long rides. I took my bike over to Seattle, to Rich's Seats. He took mine off, carved the foam to meet my butt requirements, and also my wife's. He made me test ride it until it was what I wanted. He also installed a gell pad in both seats. Now when I ri...

Re: waterless antifreeze

Thanks EKVH, I was wondering if anyone else used it. I ran into guy who uses it, and he said it works fine. Did not mention about the jelling though. I have too much money invested in my bike, to experiment with something I am not sure of. Thanks for the information.

waterless antifreeze

Has anyone heard of or used Evans Waterless Antifreeze? It is supposed to bring the temperature up to over three hundred versus one twelve. Just curious.

Re: HD riders attitude

I have a friend who is a great pin striper, and who also rides a harley. We were sitting in his shop the other day talking about just what you all are talking about. I mentioned to him about the attitude the HD riders have against us GW riders. He said that all that they can think of it is a bike th...

Re: Average age ?77

When we bought our first and only bike, I was 71, I'm now 77. Figured the kids don't need any more money so we are spending it. We got us a beautiful red Gold Wing Trike. Last year we put over 6 thousand miles on it. We are heading out again with our Escapade trailer again this year. You only go aro...

Re: Glove question

Like all of you, I got tired of wet gloves. I went to a sporting goods store and bought a pair of neoprene diving gloves. So now when I know that I am going to get wet, I stop and put my togs and rubber gloves on, and off I go, snug as a bug in a rug. Hope this gives you some other ideas.

Re: TRIKE DRIVE LINE PROBLEMS

Hey Carbco, I got mine after three times having problems with my CSC shaft. I agree they should pay for it too, as they know and knew that they had a problem and still put them in the machines. That rubber coupler is actually an axle joint for a Mercedes car not a motorcycle. Mine is still in my sho...

Re: GL1800 DECELERATION VIBRATION

HEY ANCIENT ONE. I THOUGHT THAT I WOULD DROP YOU A LINE AND TELL YOU THAT I FINALLY GOT THAT DRIVE LINE PROBLEM SOLVED. I BOUGHT (NOT CHEAP), A NEW DRIVE LINE WITH A CV JOINT ON THE END OF IT. I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS TOO MUCH STRESS ON EACH END OF THE DRIVE LINE ON THE SPLINES, DUE TO THE OFFSET G...

I see that there is a lot of fixes being done out there, and glad to see it, as CSC sure is not any help. I also am taking them off of my favorites list. Re: TRIKE DRIVE LINE PROBLEMS

Hey Dawg and Ancient One. Its me again. I have just found, what I think is going to be the complete fix for this shaft problems that we all have been having. There is a guy who has designed the coupling end into a CV joint, thereby eliminating the rubber coupling altogether. He went to CSC and they ...

Re: GL1800 DECELERATION VIBRATION

Hey Ancient One, you thought that you had a problem at an intersection, check this out. After I got me new shaft, I had to take it to Seattle to have it installed. While I was there, I also bought a camping trailer for my trike. They got it all welded up, and my wife and I started back to Coeur d al...

Re: TRIKE DRIVE LINE PROBLEMS

HEY DAWG, ITS ME AGAIN WITH AN UPDATE ON MY VIBRATION PROBLEM. WHEN I GOT THE TRIKE HOME, I CRAWLED UNDER IT (ITS UP ON MY RACK I MADE) AND DISCOVERED THAT WHEN THEY WELDED IT UP, THEY DID NOT COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTION #14 & #15. IT WAS ONE INCH SHORT ON THE REAR END OF THE SHAFT, AND THAT MEANT T...

Re: TRIKE DRIVE LINE PROBLEMS

Hi Dawg, the reason is, is because once it is welded you would not able to compress it the inch or so to get the intermediate shaft alignment stub into the bearing in the rear end. You need to have the shaft extended to its fullest, and then weld it. Then it is in there forever, unless you move the ...

Re: TRIKE DRIVE LINE PROBLEMS

Well ancient one, here is an update from my original post on the 15th. Since then, I had received my new drive shaft from CSC. I was told that if I did not get it welded, I would lose my last year warrantee remaining on my bike. So I reinstalled the new drive shaft, greased the b-jesus out of it and...

Re: GL1800 DECELERATION VIBRATION

Roger that Jinx, I did find my problem, and it was the splines on the intermediate and main shaft were completely shot. CSC is sending me a whole new shaft and all that goes with it. Putting it in is not a problem at all, about 20 minutes. Hopefully my vibration will also be gone.
