Re: Adding LEDs to Radio and handle bar controls

Bookmaker.. I’m also ex-Navy, so know what you mean about the red LEDs. So yesterday I received the additional LEDs required and today started changing out the bulbs for LEDs. I opened up the right side controls 2B8C8566-DE91-4FB4-A9CA-2EAE6E8CD5F9.jpeg 1A095870-D959-43D2-878B-E0B8C4BFFE3B.jpeg 35A3...

Adding LEDs to Radio and handle bar controls

So after adding LEDs to my lower panel as shown in another DIY article, I decided to tackle working on the radio and then the left and right handlebar controls. Doing the radio requires removing the top panel (as if you were going to change your air filter. But once the top panel is removed, then yo...

Re: Adding LEDs to GPS panel

For those who aren't "electronics" people.... LEDs are polarity sensitive. As you get them, one "leg" will be longer than the other. The LONG leg is the Anode or positive and the short is obviously the negative. So wiring them up it would be POWER.... Resistor..... Long leg then short leg to long l...

Assuming this is a GL1500 as per your info...I think this is the part required, but look for yourself, it is the part that the mirror actually attaches: https://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/hon/506c1be7f870023420a2ef36/windscreen https://www.hondapartshouse.com/oemparts/p/honda/64631-mn5-000/b...

Re: Preload weight tiers

One thing that I recently did was to check the oil lever (2008 HPNA) in the preload cannister, it was low. I had noticed that when adjusting the preload, you could hear when the pump was actually increasing the preload. Mine started at around 11-12. I had removed the cannister and added new oil to f...

Re: Modification rear lights from European to Usa mode

This is what will help make the connection easier, the bulbs are already getting power for running lights...these connectors have the correct pins to fit the light receptacle and provide the braking function

Re: Handle bar control troubles...

BigBob, since you have had the issue in your 1500, it could also be as simple as replacing the brass bushing in the left clutch lever. If worn, the cancel switch is not fully engaged or will cause the CC to disengage when you hit a bump. I had this issue on my 1500 and I have just purchased a bushin...

Re: Grips

Would assume that you are wanting to remove the existing heated grips and then put on non heated grips. You can remove the heated grip and disconnect the wiring..but you may need to remove some of the body panels to get to the connectors. Obviously...if you cut the wires...well..no heat! Mine is an ...

Has anyone had any experience with Henry's final drive replacement on a GL1800? I'm not sure what you are asking. What is a Henry's final drive replacement ??? This drive gear change is about lowering the engines RPM’s. So I tested the RPM’s at the speeds I normally have to use on these California ...

Re: Fitting new kickstand

Easy way to work with the KS spring...with the bike on the centerstand, lower the kickstand to extend the spring. Use 6-7 quarters or quarter sized washers and insert into the spring. This will allow you to easily remove the spring and replace without trying to stretch the spring to get it off and b...
