Re: Removal of Accessories

You said that you tried dental floss...that is normally the best way to remove the stuff that is 3M taped on...would recommend that you try that option again after letting the bike sit out in the sun..

Re: Adding LEDs to GPS panel

I looked at the picture of that resistor, and thought "that looks like it was done with a wire wrap tool!" Sure enough, I then read the text, and that's just what you used. I haven't used one of those in probably...35 years? I think I still have one somewhere, but I doubt I have any wire for it. :) ...

Adding LEDs to GPS panel

Had noticed that the incandescent bulbs on my GPS panel were not working and decided to replace with LEDs. Instead of buying new lights, I had some LEDs from a previous project. Removed the GPS panel from the Wing (2008 HPNA) and removed the dash style connectors from the panel. Bulbs are "grain of ...

Re: Possible new member..but an new convert

Have the timing belts been done recently? Even though it is very low mileage, if it is on its first set of belts they are way past their use by date. And if it has been sat without being used for a lengthy spell then they could also do with changing. Full instructions for doing this task (by WingAd...

Possible new member..but an new convert

I'm hoping to see a new member joining our ranks soon....my brother (from another mother) just purchased his first Goldwing yesterday. He has been a steadfast Harley (Road King) rider and always claimed he was going to get a Wing....well yesterday he did just that! I met him at a MC shop that had a ...

Re: Pros and cons of back off brake unit

There are now LED BULBS with built in flashers. Doesn’t require a separate module. That is what I added to my 2008. Bulbs flash 5 times when applied, then go solid !! https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOViqjtptsAvPIakdLSO04iI4igtRCy6cVztUId That link does not work, but this one should, https://g...

Re: Repairing trim lights

Not sure what the lights look like behind the molding, but it may be possible to just replace the individual LEDs with component LED's. Would just need to know the size of the LED (normally 3mm or 5mm) RED LED, would guess 5mm. you would need a soldering iron and know about the polarity of the LED t...

Another option is to replace with LEDs....go to https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/instrument-cluster-gauge/neox-led-bulb-high-power-instrument-panel-led/221/ there are a number of LEDs with similar bases, would just need to measure what is currently on the bike and compare to what is availabl...

Contrasting molding

I had previously had the matching color molding on my Wing that I had added LEDs. Couple years back, I had purchased contrasting molding, but just today finished adding 3mm LEDs and installed on the Wing, however I still need to acquire the correct lower saddlebag moldings to complete the look.... I...

Follow up: Had this unit connected for a couple days now...took the bike out for a ride on Sunday (was in the upper 60's in Jan) and did not have any interference or whine coming thru the speakers. Drove the Wing to work this morning (about 27 miles) and the unit really sounded great! really happy w...

Thanks Wingpilot08, the only thing I seen close to that is sold by Electrical Connection. The one they sell is a plug and play and uses the 1/8 stereo plug that goes in the pocket and plugs into the 12 volts in the left front pocket. I use one that I got from Walmart and it use the 1/8 stereo plug....
