BUY IT! Its worth 4 times that in parts. Then take the cash and buy something decent and save tons of time, money and aggravation.

Re: 77 GL1 rear end

I don`t know either, but a quick parts fiche check shows the 1000 case ring and pinion doesn`t have part #`s, the 1100`s do. The part drawings show the cases are substantially different as are the pinion dimensions and the associated bearings, seals and layout, probably to handle additional stress f...

Re: Drill bit sizes

Before I needed reading glasses to do this, someone told me to use a bit whose O.D was slightly larger than the shank of the fastener I wanted to use. (ie. not the thread dia.) Almost always works for me. I did bookmark it though. Thanks.

Re: My 86 GL 1200 Trike has just had triple tree rebuilt new bearings in front rim new front tire. Still has a shimmy

Did you do the bearings and tire to solve a shimmy in the first place? If so what was the last thing done before you noticed the shimmy. Maybe take a look there. Was the bead seat cleaned before the new tire went on?, that turned out to be the problem on one bike I owned. Consider Dyna Beads, as a b...

Re: 1980 GL1100 Honda Gold Wing Starter Solenoid

I suspect you`ll have difficulty getting the ford to fit in the same space. What problem are you having, the pic only shows some sulfation, is that it? Are you replacing solenoids often? To my knowledge the most common electrical problems can be traced to a bad ground or broken/frayed wiring. Clean ...

Re: CLUTCH DISC INSTALL HELP

Auctioneeral, as shown in Hondas parts fiche, the clutch center side, outer friction disk (B), #5, does have a different part #, 22202-463-000, 1 required, $13.58 @ your local Honda dealer. The illustration doesn`t show tab size, and I stand by my recommendation to match what you have with what you ...

swing arm- bearings or bushings?

Hello all, have a swing arm question. Did mother honda install bushings or ball bearings in the `80-`83 1100`s? I ask because an Ebay seller is offering greaseable ball bearings/seals/covers kit for sale. My manual shows bushings. Has a ball bearing kit been introduced as a bushing replacement? Good...

Need another seat for my `83. Not too concerned about condition as long as the seat pan is in good shape with nothing broken or cracked. Up to $100.00 w/shipping.

Re: Weird Faux Tank Latch Lock Conundrum

my `82 did the same thing last winter, in the same sequence. Filled the tank, rode home and put the charger on the battery and walked away. 1st of april `13 i tried to open gas door and found it jammed. turned out the plunger nuts has loosened ever so little enough to jam the latch.

I was told on this site 2yrs ago that a 1200 motor would not fit in a `81-`83 frame, it would seem the reverse also would not work.

Re: No fuel gauge :-(

On my `82 i cleaned the coil on the sending unit with a 50/50 mix of muriatic acid and water with a toothbrush, removing a light coating or film of corrosion from the wire surfaces. That did the trick, no problems since.

Re: 1983 shocks air pump

the shocks are air over hydraulic, is there any or sufficient oil in the shocks? how about the seals, are they good?, not leaking. No kinks in the pressure lines. I believe the parts to rebuild the shocks are still available from Honda. Is your bike an aspy? is the gauge working right?
