Re: Electricity 101

The common idea is the "red" wire is the "hot" wire....In DC electronics reality,, it is not... Electricity(moving electrons) is provided from the negative terminal of the battery...The electrons actually flow through the frame to all the individual grounds, into the "load"..(ex.light bulb) and then...

Re: Brake light flasher

Nope.

I want a relay to strobe flash my existing lights, not an add-on that destroys the OEM look of my bike.

Re: Polar Vest Phase Change Cooling Vest

At $149.00 (with discount), and it only lasting an hour to an hour and a half, I doubt I will be getting this anytime soon.

Living in Florida, I try not to ride much in summer anymore, unless it is a highway run (no stop lights or heavy traffic).

Re: WTF!!! NOW WHAT????

Both the multimeter and the onboard voltmeter match each other, which also matches the voltmeter on the battery charger.

WTF!!! NOW WHAT????

OK... So I replaced the alternator... Got the battery charged.... Get ready to go for a ride... Start the bike up... Let it warm up... But then, when I plugged my phone in, it wasn't charging. Adjust the cigarette lighter plug in, but still nothing. Aggravation abounds! I must have forgot to plug th...

Re: AGM Battery Charger

Electronics question... How easy it is to build a resistor to reduce the amperage to 2amps so if I have to charge in the future using this or another device, I can just put it on the cables? Thanx! Re: AGM Battery Charger

Voltage was down to 5.6vdc About the only thing this a charger does NOT have is a low amp charging. I wanted that, but then I focused in on the anti-sulphite feature and I forgot about checking for 2amp charging. I figure I can either- A- Use this charger, while I am with it (not walking away and fo...

Re: AGM Battery Charger

Sorry, I forgot to mention the battery voltage is very very low.

I was reading up on the AGM batteries, and apparently that is why many chargers won't charge it, because it is very low and they cannot sense it or something like that

AGM Battery Charger

Hey guys and gals... So I just replaced my alternator with an 85amp. But, now my AGM battery is dead. Of course, I don't have the right battery charger available to me. So, a couple of questions. I do have a bench AC/DC transformer, in which I can adjust voltage (and I think amperage- I don't recall...

Re: It finally had to happen... GL1500 charging problem

SUCCESS!!! I installed the new 85a alternator, but made two modifications- 1- I took the wire and 2P connector from the old alternator, added a 2P connector at one end, and connected it to the new alternator so if I ever needed to check or replace the alternator again, I won't have to remove half th...

Re: It finally had to happen... GL1500 charging problem

CycleMax had the dampeners for $17 + shipping/time.

Mother Honda has them for $5, and they are in stock and only a few miles from my house.

Alternator should be in within a week.

I can't wait!!!

I have/have used GEICO Roadside Assistance. They will tow you home or to the nearest Honda dealership, whichever is closer. Not sure about the mileage limitations though, but I am satisfied with their coverage.

GL1100A

Hello I have a 1982 GL1100A I bought a few years back as a project bike. It was running, albeit not smoothly, after I disassembled and cleaned the carbs and fuel lines and pump of all the green jelly. My intention was to bring it down to the frame, blast it, powder coat it, and rebuild and repaint i...
