Cooland leak.

I have a 1995 GL1500 with a Sidecar. Went up to the store today and the bike started to get hot. Came home added coolant and watched a puddle slowly form on the garage floor. Right side. Removed some of the fairing pieces, tightened and checked the radiator hoses for signs of leakage and found none....

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

Took the bike for a ride today about 35 miles. I noticed at times I could hear a faint rub. Stopped to check and couldn't see anything so waited until I got home to really get under the bike. I noticed shiny plastic on the right saddlebag. Eyeballing the clearance the left has about 3/8" more room t...

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

Well two weeks ago I was going to Install the SUNFULL tire, and I finally got around to it today. Despite the 93+deg weather, I did the job in about 2 1/2 hours. I only removed the rear plastics per the Goldwingdocs picture tutorial...(THANK YOU) and the right saddlebag. While installing the tire I ...

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

The bike rode better with the Formoza. Better braking , quieter, and the wife said the ride in the sidecar was smoother and quieter. We went from South Florida out to Arkansas and back on one trip and then from South Florida to Two Rivers Wisconsin on another trip. Bike handled great.

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

Here are the specs of the Austone tire compared to the Sunfull tire and some pics of mine off the rim and when I mounted it on the rim. Will be mounting this on the GL1500 on Tuesday . Hopefully the weather will cool a bit down here in Florida. I have the tire next to a Federal Formoza as I had a ne...

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

The 195/55/16 went on easy ,lowered bike by approximately 1 3/4”. Sidecar was bottoming out from the lower height on big bumps or speed bumps.

Re: Speaking of Austone Taxi Tires....

Gonna jump in here and add my two cents. I have a GL1500SE with a sidecar and once my first rear wore out I got a Federal Formoza 195/55/16 CT to replace the bike tire. It lasted about 26000 miles for me. It was good but I didn't care for the lower ride height as I bottomed out a lot. I tried to fin...

Alligator crossing

Took the rig to work this morning at 530 am and noticed a car stopped up ahead about 1/4 mile away. Pulled up slowly and saw a moving shadow. I was expecting to see a opossum or raccoon ,but when I hit the high beams there was an 8 foot gator slowly making his way across the road. Ahhh life in the s...

Re: Poor throttle response in 1st and 2ndP gear sometime.

It is 30 years old so probably get a rebuild kit and do that. Also heard that possibly advancing the timing by 4 deg. might help. Any thought on that or has someone done it with the trigger wheel advance kit?

Re: Poor throttle response in 1st and 2nd gear sometime.

Did a little maintenance today. Changed out the air filter and fuel filter. The accelerator pump squirts equally both sides. Blip the throttle and it seems to go okay.. I used some carb cleaner and sprayed that around to get them cleaned up a little, checked the accelerator pump again but it visuall...

Poor throttle response in 1st and 2nd gear sometime.

Got a new for me bike, it's a 1988 wing with 52000 miles. The bike runs great except sometimes when I start out it bogs then bucks, like the throttle is not responsive at first. Checked slack and lubed cables. No binding or sticking throttle handle. The bike does have a sidecar. Ran a few tanks with...

Re: Goldwing Cover

Got my covers from EZ Touring . I live in Florida and in the summer it is daily rain. These are the best cover I ,be ever used that are totally waterproof. They custom made the sidecar one for me as my sidecar is the wider Hannigan Astro 2+2. Great people to deal with.

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Got my first motorcycle in 1964 with the condition from my Mom that I wear a helmet always. 100’s of 1000’s of miles later I can say I have only ridden “No helmet “ in New Hampshire one time for less than 6 miles. Didn’t’ like the feeling of not having some protection. Even If I go two or three hous...
