Re: Air in Front Shocks

I went down to my local bicycle shop and bout a small hand pump that max's at 10 psi. It fits in the trunk and is there for the once a year I might need it on our '96 SE.

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

If your bracket inquiry was directed to dwight_n_sue, it came with the LED driving lights that I ordered from eBay. I have a year on them and am impressed with the down-road range.

Re: GPS suggestions

I have an old Garmin Street Pilot 2730 on our trike. It is a motorcycle unit, meant for shock, vibration, and moisture. I have it mounted on a stalk at the front brake. I checked eBay and they are there for less than $150. Lifetime maps is available from Garmin. I use a sunshield but when the sun is...

Re: Goldwing and GPS

Trike GPS 067.jpg We have a Garmin Street Pilot 2730. It is a GPS built for motorcycles. It isn't supported by Garmin anymore but you can still register a pre-owned unit for lifetime maps. I found the 2730 on Amazon for about $250. I added the sun cover and stalk mount. It was a $1200 unit in 2005 ...

Re: How to replace your cruise and sub air filters

I don't use an adhesive because I want to be able to remove the screws under the tabs. Maybe that's why I have to buy replacements.

We stay dry wearing this suit. Works well for cold weather riding, too.

Re: shipping my goldwing

I had Federal Companies ship my trike from Boise to Rockford IL a couple of years ago. Trikes are harder to ship because of the three contact points. Anyway, a lot of broken plastic and paint scrapes. It was insured but they refused to cover it. I would avoid this carrier.

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

I powered up and aligned my LED's last night and I must say I am impressed. They are as bright if not a touch brighter than my high beams. We live in deer country and these lamps give me the ability to look a block down the right side of the road for the varmints. I am going to order factory headlig...

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

The weak link is the lamp's housing connection to the part that connects to the mounting bolt. I will JB Weld these parts when I determine my assembly is acceptable.

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

I am beginning my installation of the 15 degree LED fog lamps (I thought they were 10) I purchased from eBay last June for our GL1500SE. I am testing the mechanical mounting before completing the electrical tie in. I took MikeB's idea and massaged it a bit to get two axis control because I didn't ha...

Re: Air Pressure in Front Forks ?

Don't use the on-board compressor as it may blow the fork seals. I purchased a small hand pump at my local bicycle store that reads 0 - 10 psi. I use it to fill my forks on our '96 SE to 7 PSI.

The SENA SM10 has an adaptor available for 1980 and newer GoldWings. Look down a ways on this site and you see the available interface cables.

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

Thanks MikeB and WingAdmin for your input. I've considered the HID lighting system and may end up there but I'm starting here. A long time back ( a year or so) I thought you (WingAdmin) posted replacement LED lamp numbers for various places on GoldWings. I can't find it if it ever existed. Am I goin...

Re: LED headlamp bulb upgrade

I just ordered the 10 degree LED lamps from eBay.I am hoping these lamps will work. I plan on mounting them per the photo (thanks MikeB) for the GL1500. I will wire them to the AUX to be always on. I don't have the compufire power generating system. My 96 SE is triked with a light bar. I have bumped...

Re: GL1500 SE Cold Start Problem

My '96 GL1500 SE has a cold start issue. I found an article that said if I hit the starter for 3 or so seconds and release, possible 5 or 6 times, the bike will start. Seems the voltage will increase after the starter is released and the coasting engine will use the higher voltage to engage all of t...

I went down to our local bicycle shop and purchased a hand pump with gauge (0-10 psi) and use it on my '96 GL1500 SE front forks. I do 7 psi.

Re: Battery Tender Jr

Instead of using the tender jr. post clips I wired for loop stake-ons that fit my battery's terminals and pulled the connector to the tender under the seat and thru my helmet hanger opening (I'm triked and the helmet hangers don't function). We're a tad closer to the North Pole than you; northern Il...

The gentleman at On Three Trikes Conversions told me if I ever needed anything on the rear axle to use '79 Ford Pinto as the source.
