Re: My Final Ride

Scott, it's a TMS FMVSS 218. I bought it online 5-6 yrs ago for $21.00. I looked it up just now online and can't find it, although there are a lot of TMS helmets with that exact same model number on EBAY. BTW, I've decided to sell my Voyager kit (fits 1100's and 1500's) on the site, but can't find a...

Re: My Final Ride

So glad your daughter is safe. Rt. 33 is bad enough during the day, but stay off of it at night. Yes, 3 months ago we had 2 GW's, sold one, and now this, and my neck is in a metal cage, fused in 4 places, so my riding days are over. Just glad to be alive.

My Final Ride

Well, after a couple of days of naps and shopping/banking excursions, I thought I'd tell you guys a little about what happened to my motorcycle. Karen and I are retired, but we decided to keep active by working 30 or so hours a week 6 months a year as campground hosts for American Land and Leisure, ...

Re: What's in your arsenal? (fluids, lubes, etc)

I found that having a supply of Dupont Krytox grease on hand is a plus. I didn't replace all the lube points on the bikes that take grease with Krytox when I got it, but when I'm working on one and have to remove a greased fitting, such as a u-joint or a rear drive, I'll use the Krytox during reasse...

Re: GL1800 Reverse Trike

It looks like the one produced by Sturgis Motoren, a Gold Wing enthusiast company from The Netherlands, that has been developing their R18 reversed trike kit for the Gold Wing GL1800 and F6B for three years now. Could be wrong. Here's their website:

Re: Why won't my #*&%@# trailer lights work???

You've mentioned this 'Cyclemax Kit' twice, but have not said what all there was included in this 'Kit'? Did it include a 5-to-4 pin trailer harness converter ?? Yes. The kit was this unit: http://cyclemax.com/inc/sdetail/gl1500_iso_trailer_wiring_harness/129/59647. They are two entirely different ...

Ok, that's good information to have. I do have an account on Amazon and will most likely go there (from here) to buy the remaining gifts I need to finish up this year's list. Thanks again for all you do and if I don't get a chance to tell you again, may you and yours have a blessed Christmas and a s...

Re: Why won't my #*&%@# trailer lights work???

First off, I only have 1 bulb for all the functions, #1034's, other than the little side illuminator bulbs and tag light on the left side. And the plug is exactly the one you show, Scott. As far as the grounding goes, it must be good because if I take the ground wire off, the taillight goes out. The...

Re: Why won't my #*&%@# trailer lights work???

Thanks for the reply, Scott. First off, the plug on the trailer came with a 4-pin, so I bought a 4-pin plug for the bike, assuming that that would make all the trailer lights (always-on, L or R signals, and both L/R signals lighting up for the brake light) work properly. As I wrote in my plea for he...

What am I missing.....?

Maybe it's a case of not seeing the forest for the trees, but, in addition to the electrical issue with my 93, this electrical problem with my 82 is killing me. So I turn the key on to start the bike, all lights are on, and as soon as I hit the starter, the headlight goes out and only comes on if I ...

Why won't my #*&%@# trailer lights work???

I had a 4-pin trailer light plug installed on my 93 by the Honda dealer (that has been doing all my work) for my HF 40"x48" car-top type trailer. They used the plug and accessories I ordered from Cyclemax and it must be installed correctly because, if I use my matching test plug, all the l...

I bought this Tingley Class 3 high visibility, lined, waterproof jacket and pants for my fiance and me for Christmas. See it here: http://workingperson.com/searchengine/solr?q=j26112. Very well made and DOT approved for working in high speed work zones in Virginia. And the jacket and matching pants ...

Re: thinking of maybe trading

This isn't a GW, but it's a pretty nice Valkyrie with a sidecar. First one I'd ever seen. Took the pics at a used car lot in Winchester, Va. They wanted $12,000. Don't know the year or mileage. It has a removeable bubble-top. The front flips up for entry and the trunk is huge. Might be able to find ...
