Re: 1500 speakers

Ya, thanx Craig. My cornering lights are on all the time. I dunno if they're sposed to b like that or not on a SE, but they are & I like it as it's good for visibility. However I dunno if it's got anything to do with that little rocker switch, or not as I haven't moved it. I'd like to find someone ...

Re: 1500 speakers

CW123: As u can c in the pic I posted above (about 10 mesgs bfore), I also have a 3 way little rocker switch. I thot I'd include it in the pic of the knob that controls front & back speakers on the SE, just so if someone knew what it was (as well as the round knob), they could tell me. And so u did...

Re: 1500 speakers

You helped me remember where the balance controller is. Maybe it's different on different years & mmodels of Wings, but mine is up by the ignition switch as I hope u can tell on this pic. There is also a 2 way toggle switch there & I dunno what that's for (as it really doesn't make much of a dif wh...

Re: Carb Vacuum Port Adaptor Size

Thanks. I recently picked up the MotionPro SyncPro tool and it came with 5mm adaptors. I hooked it up and synced the carbs with no issues. She is running much smoother and has more power.

Carb Vacuum Port Adaptor Size

I am wanting to sync my carbs but I can't find the size of adaptor I need for the right side vacuum port to connect my vacuum gauge. I had done a quick search of the forum but did not find anything relevant. Does anyone know the size of adaptor required?

Re: Don't run your bike in the winter

Excellent post. I should point out that you mean "don't start and just idle the bike during the winter" - because it doesn't get hot enough to evaporate the moisture, just as you mentioned. This doesn't mean "don't go out and ride your bike" - if the road conditions (and weather) permits, this is f...

Don't run your bike in the winter

While prepping for the last ride of the season, and getting my bike ready for winter, I took advantage of some great backlighting to show why we should never run our bikes in the winter. Unless of course you winter is not a real winter... As you can see from the vide...

You should be able to find something local. In Calgary one of the best shops is http://www.gpscentral.ca. They ship throughout Canada.

Re: GoPro mounting ideas

I am looking at a couple different locations, one being the crash bar (either left or right side) but I'm concerned about engine heat on the plastic parts, and the other possible on the fairing in front of the windshield. No matter where you decide to mount a camera I highly suggest having a seconda...

Re: GL1500 shift shaft stabilizer mod. No drilling.

I love the change with the Shift Brace installed. In fact, I have recommended the Shift Brace to my neighbour after seeing him struggle to get his newly purchase 2000 gl1500 into neutral when backing into his garage. The value of this product can not be understated.

Re: discovering things on a new 1500

I think the vents were a better idea on paper than in practice. I have never noticed them providing much heat. When I first got my 1500 the lower vents were blocked open by my foot board mounts, so they stayed open for that riding year. Over the winter I removed the foot boards and closed the vents....

If you mean this door;

Lower Foot Warmer Vent
Lower Foot Warmer Vent

It is the Foot Warmer Vent. It is operated by turning the knob on the right side of the fairing;

Control Knob
Control Knob

Sounds like you have an SE model.

1983 GL1100A For Sale

My Dad is selling his 1983 GL1100A. It was my bike for 4+years until I upgraded to my current 1500. My dad bought the 1100 of me last year. He intended to use it in Arizona while down snow birding. He has since decided against doing this and is wanting to sell. This spring he has replaced all the fl...

Re: Rough Ride This Morning

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I am going to give it another ride or two and see how the bike acts before tearing it apart to check out/replace the thermostat. The antifreeze was all replaced last year. When I rode it last year the engine temp was higher, at least between 1/3 to 1/2, but I...

Rough Ride This Morning

Today was to have some good weather so I took the chance to ride my bike into work. Temp this morning was just above freezing (2c) and after a short warmup off I went. About half way to work the engine seemed to start riding a little rough, similar to when the engine first starts and it's cold. Glan...

These look great. I really like to locations you picked for the install. How well to the show when you are off at an angle, not directly behind?
