82 Aspencade Vetter Gutted

http://s578.photobucket.com/albums/ss221/jstumler/Aspen/ I have all of the good parts that I salvaged out of the vetter fairing from my '82 Aspencade. I am posting them here hoping it will save me from having to post on the-once-great-now-a-serious-rip-off ebay. Follow the link to my photobucket of ...

Re: How to replace your throttle cables

I have had my Aspencade just over a week, and so far, every thing I wanted/needed to fix on the bike, you have detailed directions for. You are the man. AAAAAND I just realized you are in Strongsville! When I get this beast road worthy, we should ride to Quaker Steak bike night. I'll buy you some wi...

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

...but I don't understand why so many seem to take it personally or just get so worked up about it... I don't really think anyone is taking anything personally here, or getting worked up about it. I just come to this forum to get some great info for my newest 2-wheeled beast, and if I find a thread...

I agree. A good healthy discussion. Something to chat about. If I met Ghostrider today, I would harbor no ill will towards him...well, except for naming himself after a Nicholas Cage character.

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Sorry Ghostrider. I just can't buy your "when it's your time" philosophy, which, by the way, seems to be a very popular line among all of my anti-helmet riding pals. If I thought that way, my job would be pointless. Our job is to do our best to make sure it's not your time. I have seen a d...

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Okay, one more comment. I have been to more then a handful of bike accidents were the rider took some serious damage to the dome while his helmet was in pristine condition strapped to the back of his bike. Brilliant. One such dude was a very large (think Terry Crews), leather clad tough guy who went...

Re: Do you wear your " Helmet "

Helmets are hot, heavy and un-cool to wear... Bill Noblesville,IN Not so much any more. Helmets definitely fall in to the "you get what you pay" for category. I had a very nice HJC ($180) that I used for a couple years, and absolutely loved. The fella' I most often ride with swore by Shoe...

Re: Clutch Locked

Funny you should ask that. The receipt is hand written, and doesn't have an itemized breakdown, so I have no idea what parts and how much was paid for the clutch itself. At this point, I'm just going to disassemble/reassemble the clutch, which I'm kind of looking forward to any ways. :D

Clutch Locked

Alrighty. I'm going to start a new thread instead of hijacking the starter remove/rebuild/reinstall thread. And I'm going to try and keep it simple. I just acquired my gl1100 that has been sitting for approximately 6 years. There are receipts that came with the back that show a new clutch and starte...

Re: How to remove, rebuild and reinstall your starter

Hello folks. Hopefullly someone out there still monitors this thread. Fingers crossed. I read the entire thread to make sure my problem was not already addressed. I have my starter out, so I will go ahead and rebuild it using these great directions, but I'm wondering if I even needed to remove the s...
