Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800
Hello Defender. You might find some info on this site. It has lists of what people have tried for CTs on different MCs. Most GL1800 use the 55 section. The 65 will make for a taller tire that may rub in the wheelwell. You will probably get a lot of mileage out of a CT so don't look for the cheapest....

Re: Countersteering: Watch this and save your life
Even before getting our first GL, I was reading and prepping for touring and handling such a big bike. So many important messages about countersteering that I knew I had to research and practice this "new" tool. Except it seemed so intuitive that I couldn't grasp how anyone would think oth...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800
Not that I like to contribute to old threads, but I like to offer my thoughts when I have actual experience with the topic. If you take me as a sample size of QTY=1 you would find that there are zero blowouts on Bridgestones, Dunlops and Kumho car tires. I've spent a lot of money on motorcycle tires...

Re: Rear Tire 200 60 16 Bridgestone Exedra Max
Strange that the Exedra isn't available in the original 180/60-16 size anymore. The 180/70-16 would give you a bit larger diameter (less rpm on the highway) but I see it has a lower load rating. Guess it depends on if you ride two up or haul a lot of gear (I'm guilty on both counts). My last Exedra ...

Re: Trailer picture thread
Just saw this thread and am really impressed with all the ideas. I used to design cooking equipment so stainless prototypes (government jobs) were easy to produce. I added this cooler rack on top of the existing flat plate that came with the trailer. A rolling Wal-mart cooler fits great. The handle ...

Re: E3 to car tire, wow
Switched to a Kumho run-flat 195/55-16 over the winter. Have used E3s and most recently Bridgestone. After 8000 miles, mostly highway/2-up/trailering, the Bridgestone looked like a car tire with the big flat on it. Really have liked the change and just finished a run to Branson on Interstate that re...

Re: Seat Pads
I have a Hartco seat which both of us really like. Anything more than just a day ride and we break out the sheepskins. And even on a day ride when it is hot. The wool seems wrong, but all the fibers actually let some air circulate between your backside and the non-breathing vinyl seat. And it also p...
