Re: Plugged tire

Sounds good....3000 miles on a plugged tire...My wing's about 950 lbs & I'm 185, but still not much difference. Why would any qualified bike tire guy I tried to get them to patch it refuse? Becuz of the "liability risk" they said

O well

Raised rear seat

A non-motorcyclist friend of mine was wondering why the rear seat was always elevated compared to the driver's seat. I thot the best answer was because the bike is essentially a touring bike, it's so that the passenger could see more instead of the driver blocking their forward view. Is that the rig...

Has anybody here ridden a bike with a plugged rear tire on the highway for any distance without any problem?

Re: Re Ride-On

I can't find anybody around here who is willing to patch the inside of a tire with a plug for liability reasons. So, now I guess I have to get a new tire already with 50% tread still on? I DO wanna be safe on the highway. But I also have ride on (yet to be put in) for assurance around town. Where's ...

Re: Re Ride-On

Thanks for the quick reply! I appreciate quick replies. I was just wondring how safe it is to ride a plugged tire for 10 or so min at 45 to 60 mph immediately following a new application of Ride-On to evenly distribute the Ride-on. The tire (rear) is now smoothed down pretty good to be flush with th...

Re: Re Ride-On

So I assume you've used Ride-On? I have a plug in my rear tire, but thot I'd try Ride-On as back up assurance. To start with some guy have suggested I don't ride highway with just a plug in. What's your knowledge of that? Also, my rear tire (with the plug) has 50% tread left on it. Should I feel saf...

Re: Re Ride-On

Thank you. That gives me some reassurance. I'm a bit wary of riding a wobbly bike on the highway. You see, I had a flat & just plugged it & many are saying don't go on the highway (fast speeds) with a plug in rear tire. Maybe I will get someone else to ride it

Re: Re Ride-On

DO I even have to take the core out? Have u put in it your tires? What was your ride like after application? Kinda wobbly? That's one thing I'm a little apprehensive about. I don't wanna go > 45 mph after I apply it. Or what's the minimum distance & mph & time? 5 min at 50 mph or what wud u say?

Re: Tire Sealent

So what do I do? So far, I haven't found any shop willing to patch the inside cuz they say it's too dangerous if the patch comes loose even when it's plugged as it is now. I still have 50% left of good tread.

tire patch

Three days ago, I had a puncture flat on the rear (toward the center) of the 1500. I plugged it, but some here wisely suggested I get a patch on the inside. So I took it to the shop & he tried to tell me that the patch might go loose. He said he woudn't do it & suggested I get new tires on at anothe...

tire question

I have about 50% left on my E3‘s. I gotta nail in the rear one & plugged it. My questions are: Should I spend 100 or more just to get it patched on the inside, or just get a can of Fix-A-Flat just in case the patch doesn’t hold? It’s been 3 days & so far, not one pound of air has escaped. Then once ...

Tire Sealent

What's the best tire sealant for E3's (rear). Ride-On or what's your experience?

I gotta flat today & I was lucky. The tow truck guy put a plug in it. The tire still has about 55% left, but don't want that to happen again.
