Ok First your bike doesn't have a compressor so what you are hearing could be a number of things. make sure your air cleaner is sitting right and closed properly, check your cam belts for there tightness, make sure that noting is rubbing the rear tire, lastly if you can still not find anything then ...

Let's try this. What year is your bike. Does the right side of your bike have this plate and information? if not then the noise isnt from the compressor. also the compressor will not function while the bike is in gear.

Does your bike have the air compressor or is it blank on the right hand side. Is your bike an aspencade or interstate as interstates I don't think came with air ride

To remove the right side fairing pocket you first need to open and remove the cover using the drivers key. you then unscrew the four screws. to remove the switch plate cover you just pop it off carefully with a screwdriver. then remove the screw holding the switch in place. open both fairing pockets and remove them . then check the wire connections. most times they pull out if not tight. also make sure the socket is soldered and cleaned properly. i found that one of mine wasnt seating right where the bulb is placed.

try this

with the bike running turn the bars so that you can access the right hand connectors in the fairing. grab the large connector and wiggle the wires. if the bike shuts down then you have to fix the connector for the main power wire going from the ignition to the connector.
