Re: Harbor Freight Tag-Along Trailer

Thanks Bro
Your swift response is appreciated. I like the idea of lowering the shell but I installed 12 in wheels plus a spare. Just don't feel like making any more changes or challenges.

Re: Harbor Freight Tag-Along Trailer

Great job on the photos, many of the modifications I made when I purchase my Tag along. However did not consider lowering it. Did you install larger tires if so I can assume no conflict with the lowering.

Re: Engine Replacement

Hey guys thanks for the tips. Found a 97 engine with 135k miles for $249, 250 shipping a little less than 1k labor. Went over the spec with my mechanic he was pleased and purchasing from a reputable vender, we are replacing belts, checking water pump, everything. All roughly for $1500. Thanks for yo...

Engine Replacement

Big question I've heard (WA) state that if you must change out an engine on a 91-94 model at least install a 96 engine. Can I move up to a 99 with reverse??? Note; present bike DOES have reverse

Are there some specific locations to search for motorcycles engines other than random searches on eBay. I had place a stabilizer on it just think it was to late.

Re: Shipping It Home

Okay let's consider this. Something serious has happened, You didn't identify your bike or it's age. Your first problem is you don't want to junk or abandon your bike, you believe it still has life remaining. Second problem to consider is there are shops that won't work on a bikes that are older tha...

Thanks Guys:
My town isn't that small and I know a few car racers that know painters and I'll talk with them. I think I was just being lazy and was looking for that quick way. The quick and easy way are not always the correct or best way and are very seldom on the same path. Thanks guys

clearcoat repair

Hello Everyone: I'm the lucky guy, whose brother gave him a 1991, Goldwing Aspencade (70140 miles) :D . It had been sitting for eight months and yes I had to have the carbs cleaned, fluids changed and tires replaced. SHADOW had been exposed and uncovered in the California sun for much longer. Thanks...

Re: LOCKED OUT!

First question are you locked out or the release is failing to operate and does this go for the side bag release also? Next is your lid closed without any gaps? If you can pry your lid up (be careful) on your trunk you will have access to three screws that hold the back plate covering your security ...

Re: automotive tire on 1500?

Curious guy here! I think I have read all the comments, test analysis, legal angles and seen the videos. And in the final run (excuse pun) it's about personal risk assessment. My only question is does anyone make a run-flat that will fit on a 1500. If so, could you please provide brand, series and s...

Re: trunk latch half release

Okay, I got the trunk open but I was lucky. When I had loosen the back plate earlier there was a separation between the plunger and the catch (the plunger is what makes the lid pop up). When the lid was closed the latch was caught on the plunger and catch I was lucky because this took place on only ...

trunk latch half release

I'm in trouble, only left side of trunk will release. Yesterday I loosen the four screws that hold down the trunk's internal back plate (this is on other side of keyhole) it worked several times afterwards. However, the next day I went to open the trunk and there was only a partial release, I can he...

Re: 96 GL1500 start in gear?

Hey Ol' Man I have a 91,1500 A and when I first tried to get it on the road I was pulling in the clutch and it wouldn't start. I too believe that I heard that being in neutral was not required and disengaging engine by pulling in the clutch would allow you to fire-up the engine. However, I have lear...

Fuel gauge not working!!!

Recently replaced lights inside my instrument panel. Fuel gauge was working prior to taking panel apart. Prior to reassembling panel noticed that the fuel gauge read a quarter of a tank, but paid it no mind. Once bike was back together I took it out for a 40 mile ride. I Noticed gauge had not moved,...
