Re: 98 Goldwing Opinions

I am currently riding a '99 SE and I love it. Almost 100,000 miles.
If'n I was you, I'd just buy it and work out the problems later.
Can't be too bad to fix. With the help of the people on this forum,
you'll have it running like new in no time.
Good luck with it.

That may be true, but what happens if you get some rain drops in your eyes? Sorry, couldn't resist it.

My 1500 had a PAIR of those E3s on it when I got it.
Damned things howled like a banshee in turns until I got rid
of those tires.

I'm amazed that it can pick the rear of the bike right off the ground!

I have been using the Mobil 1 High Mileage in my Goldwings for quite some time,
since long before you published that video.
It seems to work well. I've had no clutch or shifting problems.

Re: What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you with your Goldwing?

Just a couple of months ago.... I keep my Wing in a shed beside my house, and there is a long narrow alley that I have to ride to get to the street. When I back the bike out of the shed, I have to immediately turn the bars full left and back up against my neighbor's wooden fence, sort of a backwards...

Re: Anyone pulled a trailer?

I have pulled my home made trailer over 5,000 miles years ago, with my BMW R90/6.
Haven't tried pulling a trailer yet with my GL-1500, only because I haven't needed to yet.
But I wouldn't hesitate to do it if I was going on a long trip.

Re: Planning last ride. suggestions requested.

If you are planning to do that trip now, at this time of year, I'd say that you are already a bit too late. It is going to be cold up in Maine, and some of my favorite points of interest, like Mount Washington in New Hampshire, or Whiteface Mountain in New York will already have snow on top by the t...

Re: Helpful Tip

My '76 has some sort of aftermarket air & spring shocks on the rear. It sits up at the full extension of the shocks with nobody on it. But that thing rides like a brick in the rear. I suspect that the springs on those shocks are too strong for the weight of the bike. Despite that, I still can't get ...

The 1983 seems to be one of the hardest Wings to get on the center stand (so i have heard)....
I think that all of the early Wings were just as bad.
My '76 is just about impossible for me to get on the stand.
My '99 Wing weighs a LOT more than the '76, yet I can
get the '99 on the stand easily.

Just remember when packing for a trip.
You will inevitably take along several things that you don't need,

I thought I had hit some rough spots. You guys sure you're not doing some of that enduro stuff on your wings? I've had my iphone 8+ in the x-mount for about a year now, IIRC, and it hasn't budged once. I normally use the included rubber thingy to keep it extra secure, but have forgotten to strap th...

2001 GL1500 carbs!
You should be able to sell those for a million bucks.....
....since Honda didn't make any 2001 gl1500s.
1500 production ended in 2000.
2001 was the start of the 1800, and those were fuel injected.

Just remember, if a belt breaks, your engine is toast.
Pistons will hit valves doing lots of damage and you can junk that bike.
