My '99 has a set that look very much like those, but the mounts don't look anything like yours, not even close.

If the position lights don't come on, they are most likely burned out.
Try new bulbs.

I'd think that the guard cat would do more damage than the mice when she decides to sharpen her claws on your seat upholstery.

Re: Bike Night at Jumboland!

We had a great night at Bike Night last night.
At least 70 bikes showed up. More were arriving as I was leaving for home.
I met a few friends that I hadn't seen since last fall.
And the burgers and ice cream were great!
The season has begun!

Re: Darkside: No Taxi Tire...now what?

Everything I have read is that the Taxi tire is taller than stock (it is listed as a 175R16, but every one says it measures as a 175/80/16). Several people mention that the rear tire still touches the ground on the center stand using the Austone (and now the Maxxis) tire, so it has to be taller, an...

I ride a '99 1500 SE.
I can tell you from experience that these bikes are WAY too comfortable, WAY too smooth, WAY too quiet, carry WAY too much luggage and put WAY too much of a smile on your face.
You have been forewarned!!!

Re: URGENT: Bike SUDDENLY won't start???????!!!!!!!!

On the 1500, if you don't have a FULLY charged battery, the starter will crank, like yours is doing, but the engine will never start because the starter is using all the available juice and there is not enough left to fire the ignition.
I know. It's happened to me too.

With their sharp little teeth, they'd bite through that in a second.
After all, they chew through electric wires, right?

Re: Goldwing 1200, Aspencade, 1984

Years ago, I had a not-too-bright friend who rode a Moto Guzzi v7. One really hot day, after stopping at a store for a cold drink, he hopped back on the bike and took off without retracting the side stand. He was wearing ONLY shorts and sneakers! (Hot day? Not-too-bright?) The first left hand bend h...

Re: What's Happening Today?

Today at 5 pm, my 1500 emerged from it's long winter nap in my workshop. I finished up the last of the reassembly this morning and backed it out of the shop at 5 pm. Yee ha! On the road again! The first ride of the season on the first day of spring. Perfect! Only rode around the local area to check ...

Thanks guys! No wonder I couldn't see those grounds. I never pulled the side plastic off. And that thing is not a ground? It's for reverse?? Well blow me down! Never would have expected that. Thanks again. P.S. The ground under the seat is fine. It was burnt inside that 21 pin connector, so I bypass...

Electrical ground points??

Hi guys. I have the OEM shop manual for my '99 1500SE. The electrical diagram seems to show a ground point near the engine's dipstick. The only thing I see anywhere near the dipstick is what appears to be the oil pressure sender. Any idea what ground they are talking about? The "why" of th...

Re: Wheel removal

How will you hold the bike up with both wheels removed?
Do you have a bike jack, or can you suspend it from the ceiling?
As long as you have a SAFE way of supporting the bike, you can remove the wheels.
Just remember, even without the wheels, a 1500 still weighs somewhere around 800 pounds.

Yee Ha!! Success!
MikeB, I owe you a beer if we ever meet.

In fact they work GREAT!!!
I now have four brake lights that flash.
So the problem was with the bulbs from Superbright.
Thanks again!

HELP!! Speedometer cable screw

Hey guys, I somehow managed to lose the special screw that holds the speedometer cable into the front wheel hub
on my GL-1500.
Arrggghhh!!
That's a special screw with a tapered head.
Does anyone have one they'd part with, or know where I can get one?
Thanks guys.

Thank you, guys.

LOL!!! Yes! I have lived in this house for nearly 44 years. I have never bought a lawn mower. I find Black & Decker electric mowers that people have put out to the trash. Usually they only need some simple cheap part. I fix 'em and use 'em 'til I can't fix 'em anymore. Perfect example of what we...
