Re: Looking for left Side trunk lids Honda gold wing gl1200 85

Check ebay as they have many listed and you might find your old one, I lost the left one from my 85 Vintage red, could not find one so bought a matching pair in Silver and they looked great with the Red and silver pin strip on my bike  . Good luck.

Re: What does "E" mean

Can somebody please explain to me just what the E mean in the diagram below The diagram (schematic) is for a 1985 Interstate witch is completely different then the one for your Aspencade so I don't know why you care what E means since it has no relation to your bike and what are you trying to fix o...

Re: Is the Goldwing the best bike you have ever ridden?

I have been ridding since I was 10 and I'm 78 now, I took a break from 1959-1971, USMC + wife and 2 kids and started again when I bought a new 1971 BMW R75/5 and rode it for over 100K mi., traded it for a new 1982 a R100RT tour model as the wife wanted to ride now as the kids where older. The BMW wa...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I'm just curious to know why do I see older men on Goldwings? I GUESS THE SIMPLE ANSWER IS " BECAUSE WE CAN" AND AS LONG AS I CAN AT 74 I WILL. THANKS FOR THE QUESTION. PS; I should have answered this on my last post. I just thought to let you all know I'm still ridding @ 78 but now on a ...

Hi Jacked; We have been getting so much rain here the dams are overflowing. I haven't been able to ride for the last two weeks and more rain coming this week. With any luck we both might be able to go for a ride soon, have a good one-ride safe.

Re: Will it fit & work?

Looking to possibly put a 180/55-18 rear tire on a 2003 GL1800 ABS instead of the standard 180/60-18 Thoughts?? Should be no problem as the tire is going to be smaller in diameter but same width, the rear of the bike will be just a fraction lower with the 55 v 60 which is a % of the 180 width. :mrg...

Re: Retiring

Happy New Year to all; I have been retired for 15 years and love every day for it. I spend a lot of my none ridding time putting old bike's back on the road, this past year I put a 1971 BMW R50/5 and a 1961 BMW R69 back on the road for a couple of happy new owners. I'm now looking for the next bike ...

Re: 2000 GL1500 SE first ride report and Introduction

Welcome to the best Goldwing site around, that is super low miles and should give you many years of fun. I had 2 1500's and loved both of them, they are big heavy and bulky but handle like they are 300lb's lighter and will scare the pants off of some so called canyon racer's as I had fun doing with ...

Re: Sea Foam

I add 1 ounce sea foam & 1 ounce MMO every 3rd. tank to keep the crap they call gas here in Ca. from gumming up the carb's on my older bikes and my F6B fuel injectors, never have used it in the oil as I change it often. Bob

Re: First time posters, say hello!

Hi ibtater, you are on the best Goldwing site there is IMHO, I still think you have a gas cap problem and it takes 1 hour to let in enough air to allow the gas to flow, have you run the bike w/out the cap to test it? If the bike still stops @ 20 minutes you might have a fuel pump that is over heatin...

Re: New 2018 Goldwing Survey

I was looking very hard at buying the non-tour model with DCT but wanted to see how much of a discount they would drop on it. I decided that @ 77 it was just more then I wanted to pay for a bike I will probably only ride another 3-4 years so I found a great deal on the 2016 F6B Dlx. with low miles s...

Re: First time posters, say hello!

Well the last post I made was telling everyone that I sold my Valkyrie and Gl1200A as I let too many of my family tell me I should stop ridding on 2 wheels at 76, so I bought a 2014 Can Am RT. Well I can tell you that was the worst bike I have ever owned, all I can say is I felt like it would kill m...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

Hi there Mav4G; you must have left a long time ago as the roads are full of holes and it takes a full hour just to get out of the traffic in any direction from Orange where I have lived since 1963. Jerry (MOONBEAM) Brown has destroyed everything his dad built and then some, we are now rated 49th for...

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

Well I guess since this thread is still going I will put my 2 cents in again, I sold my GL1800, getting to heavy so I bought a GL1500 Valkyrie and that is now up for sale and bought back my 1985 GL1200A that I should never have sold in the first place, now the Valkyrie is getting to heavy (fantastic...
