Re: clutch on 2000 goldwing

Yes, but the thread had already died out on it's own, and they are correcting a person that has not been here in quite sometime. If somebody can respond to it, it doesn't appear to have "died on it's own". It was the misinformation that was being corrected and does it really matter how long the pos...

Re: clutch on 2000 goldwing

Regardless of the age of the original post, the information is still available to members and non-members alike. Arcweld80 was responding to the fact that the information was incorrect and the rest of us that also added our two cents are backing him with our results. Hopefully newbies and others wil...

Re: clutch on 2000 goldwing and other maintenance

My mechanic told me that synthetic oil will somewhat quiet down the clunking of the shifter. Since it is a wet clutch system. Synthetic oil is NOT recommended for the Goldwing, use only mineral oil. Synthetic oil is only good for a dry-plate clutch. The Goldwing clutch sits in an oilbath, the oil i...

Re: 99 GL1500SE Electical Issue

I hate to bear bad news but you might need those load resistors. What "LED Flasher" were you talking about? Is it the same as the universal type you can pick up at automotive stores? The Honda flashers for turn and hazard are identical and are useable if you add the resistors. The turn signal input ...

Re: What's the strangest thing you've hit?

I was traveling about 40mph on a six lane boulevard on my way to work. As I approached a small rise spanning a storm drain I could see about five seagulls trying to scavenge a meal from something in the lane on my right. Four of the five took flight when they spotted me but the last one just had to ...

Sad but true! And it was less than a year ago that I bought the full set. Now when I try some of the links I get redirected to some Asian website with an adult only theme. What a shock!

Re: Lost a cover to wind!

I've lost two right side covers for my '99SE. First one was stolen while I shopped in a Wal*mart. (Whoever needed it more than me must have had pretty big junk because they set off my alarm in the process in the always crowded parking lot!) Second one took off on the freeway at 70mph. That was when ...

... If there is nothing apparent, such as a light or a fan or something, then find the fuse that is connected to this switch... That is assuming the previous owner put fuse in the circuit. If you are tracing the wire for a fuse, you might as well trace it all the way to the device. Unless they did ...

The response from Charlie1Horse was for the original post. You really should address your question in a new thread. It will save you from a lot of confusion.

The headlight adjusting knob is on the outside of the panel, and can be seen on one of the photos. It almost looks like a proprietary power connector.

Re: Pathfinder H4 Headlight Replacement Installation Issue

The only information I could find from Cyclemax and Pathfinder just show one side of the unit. There is no indication of, nor mention of two banks of LEDs. I'm not disputing that there could be LEDs on the other side, I can only see the indent on one half. Plus I only looked at the model that zeoran...

Re: Pathfinder H4 Headlight Replacement Installation Issue

I copied this from the Cyclemax website description... "These kits are rated at 4000 lumens per bulb when either low beam or high beam is on." It appears that they operate the same way as HID lamps. The light is the same intensity for both high and low beams. They simply reposition it for the high b...

Re: 1500 clutch will not pressure up

Glad to hear you found it. Like you, I feel I have better than average mechanical ability. But even after rebuilding my front master cylinder I'm still thinking it feels too squishy. I hadn't thought there was any place air might be trapped in the system if I had clear fluid when bleeding. I'm going...

And what do you mean by "turn over"?

Starter not turning?
Crankshaft seized?
Engine turns but doesn't fire up?
Like Joe stated... We need more information.

Re: Turn signals misbehaving!

If you have a Honda shop manual you should consult that first. There are components in the cancel unit that don't take kindly to being probed with multimeters. (don't ask how I know.) It isn't easy replacing those as they don't have a lot of slack wiring to them. You still could have a contact probl...

This one addresses the problem and shows you the inside of the switch. Be sure to disassemble it in a big clear baggie first to avoid losing any springs.

Re: Thermostat housing cover

There is no index on the part and the bolt holes are evenly spaced. So to answer your question... there is not a certain way it is positioned.
