Re: GL1500 lighting
The instrument lights are the easiest to swap out. As are some of the front end lights. If you are doing the rear running light/brake lights there are bulbs that will fit also. If you go the LED strip lights it will require soldering and/or rewiring in some cases. This is shown in the DIY videos. Th...

Thanks Admin. I'm not up on the 1800 wiring and can only draw on my experience with my '99s circuitry.

Re: Reverse Lights
My dash light is also an LED. Find the wiring diagram for your 1800. What ever turns on the "R" light is the wire that gets 12v when the bike is in reverse. That wire is the one to use as it will also turn on the LED panel that I used for my back up lights. The connector for the 1500 is un...

Re: Removing RPM/MPH gauge needles
This was sent to me from a member on a different forum.
I haven't done anything with mine yet as I'm not sure about the replacement technique. But I know what it looks like now.- Mon Nov 23, 2020 11:37 am

Re: Reverse Lights
I just tapped into the 1500's "R" lamp on the instrument panel to activate the LED panel. Since the reverse controller is under the trunk I found the wire connector under the seat and ran my wire to it. Does the 1800 have a reverse light or indicator? If not maybe the relay that controls r...

Glad you saw the same thing I did! Between Mr. Brock's pain med posts, the mention of H3 bulbs in the cornering lights, and the OP looking for rectangular LEDs, I kept checking to see if I was in the right section!Charlie1Horse wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 8:07 pm The OP stated that his wing is an '03', not a 1500.

Re: HONDA GOLDWING GL1500 FAIRING COVER SHELTER COWL COVER LEFT
The different numbers in parenthesis at the end of the part numbers refer to the color of the part. Aside from that they will all fit your Goldwing. If your color is not listed you can paint to match or look for a used panel.

Reverse Lights
I purchased some LED lights for the purpose of wiring in reverse lights. There are times I use the reverse to back out of parking spaces only to be stopped by pedestrians that seem to come out of nowhere just to slowly walk past. There have also been the occasional motorist that swerves around with ...

Re: 1500 SE differences
When I bought mine in 1999 the only two that were not two tone in the showroom were the Spectra Red and the Black. I didn't want two tone and I didn't care for red. blupupher definitely has an SE. You can also tell by the C.B. antenna. Standard on the SE in 99 along with the spoiler/brake light and ...

You could try the "Other Bikes " tab. I never could figure out why Honda wanted two touring bikes. The Valk always gave me the impression of being a Goldwing in a muscle shirt.

The reason I asked was when it quits if there was a whoosh of air going in when you removed the cap I would think a vacuum was building up inside that the pump couldn't overcome.

Yes, but the thread had already died out on it's own, and they are correcting a person that has not been here in quite sometime. If somebody can respond to it, it doesn't appear to have "died on it's own". It was the misinformation that was being corrected and does it really matter how lo...

Re: clutch on 2000 goldwing and other maintenance
My mechanic told me that synthetic oil will somewhat quiet down the clunking of the shifter. Since it is a wet clutch system. Synthetic oil is NOT recommended for the Goldwing, use only mineral oil. Synthetic oil is only good for a dry-plate clutch. The Goldwing clutch sits in an oilbath, the oil i...

Re: 99 GL1500SE Electical Issue
I hate to bear bad news but you might need those load resistors. What "LED Flasher" were you talking about? Is it the same as the universal type you can pick up at automotive stores? The Honda flashers for turn and hazard are identical and are useable if you add the resistors. The turn sig...

Re: What's the strangest thing you've hit?
I was traveling about 40mph on a six lane boulevard on my way to work. As I approached a small rise spanning a storm drain I could see about five seagulls trying to scavenge a meal from something in the lane on my right. Four of the five took flight when they spotted me but the last one just had to ...

Sad but true! And it was less than a year ago that I bought the full set. Now when I try some of the links I get redirected to some Asian website with an adult only theme. What a shock!
