Re: This is the most difficult bike I have ever worked on.

I had to replace my thermostat also. I was convinced Honda put the thermostat on the floor and then built the bike around it!

Re: Momentary lapse of reason...

...Funniest thing about this though is the pad package itself... I don't know what these would have done, not stopped at all, shredded my rotors, who knows. I decided that well over 1000# of bike and sidecar wasn't something I was willing to experiment with. Too bad about sending them back. I...

Re: Tire Sealent

Here is a quote from the Ride-On web site: https://www.ride-on.com/us/support/tpms Possible problems with Honda motorcycles It has recently come to our attention that the TPMS sensors on late model Honda Goldwings (2009, 2010, 2012) are not sealed with an epoxy coating. Just using your hands, you ca...

Re: Tire Sealent

Have used RideOn for years... I've read that most sealants have the potential to explode if exposed to sparks and you should notify the tire changer that an aerosol type sealer was used. Does RideOn also fall into that category? I have a very hard time believing that. Most of the sealants I've work...

Re: Drivers test bike

A 1973 Honda CB 350G. Another stupid test. Drive a straight line down to the end of the parking lot, make a left turn without putting your feed down and come back to the starting line. Make sure you down shift as you stop.
O.K... You passed.

Re: What to do with an extra Goldwing?

BTW, where is this K12LT located right now? Southern California. My buddy will be picking it up in about a month. He said he lill be taking it to an independent shop for a clutch repair before he motors his way up the coast to his new home. He thinks the fuel pump is clogged, which is why it doesn'...

Re: Tires

Although stated that it's simple, the simple truth is that it's an 'old wives tale' that the crown of the road causes the wear. Although, to some minds, it seems logical, it simply is not true... Can you imagine the odd wear it has on car tires? Towards the end of their life, your car should be lea...

Re: What to do with an extra Goldwing?

... I just should have held out for a K1200lt. My friend has a K12LT. I can see it from my den just sitting on my patio. He is moving to Oregon and had to trailer it to my house since he can't seem to get it started... again! I think that Beemer has been inoperative longer than is has been ridden. ...

Re: Trouble with cb

Just spray your favorite multi purpose lubricant (wd40, pb blaster, ky jelly) on it while pushing it in and out. I have the same issue with the hazards button and once in a while i gotta lube it up. While this sounds helpful. you should seriously refrain from using WD40 on the controls. It will att...

When the FCC switched us to digital TV signals it seemed like every store was selling the conversion boxes to go between your antenna and your analog television. I wonder if anybody marketed a similar product for radios?

Re: Pics of painted chrome garnish above headlight?

I have the bra that was offered for the 1500 and blends in well with the black color of the bike. I know it isn't the same as painting it, but it is sort of color matched so you get some indication of how it would look.

Re: right handlebar switch

Yes, they will work. The only difference is the SE will have two more wires for the illumination. I'm not sure if the 1500A has the wiring available in the harness, though. If it does it will be a bonus for you!

My 78 had the mags. I think the only changes between 78 and 79 were the tail light and turn signal shapes. Do you have the registration tag on the steering head?

Re: Not a Good Day at the Gas Station (need a part)

OUCH!!! I feel your pain. My first panel "loss" was due to some jerk who stole it while I was shopping at a Wal*Mart. It set off my alarm, but these days nobody wants to get involved for fear of a lawsuit. The second one left me as I was on my way home from work... at 75mph on the freeway. This last...

It seems the number is added with a photoshop like computer program, when you zoom-in you can see the color and contrast difference.
Or a label from a Brother P-Touch machine.

I went to a local classic car show nearby this morning and saw a car I haven't seen before: a 1971 Honda 600: 2018-09-01 12.04.46.jpg Looking at the engine (V-twin, air-cooled, 36 hp), I saw something very familiar: 2018-09-01 12.05.06.jpg That carburetor looks awfully similar to a GL1000 carbureto...
