Re: Car show

I went to a local classic car show nearby this morning and saw a car I haven't seen before: a 1971 Honda 600: 2018-09-01 12.04.46.jpg Looking at the engine (V-twin, air-cooled, 36 hp), I saw something very familiar: 2018-09-01 12.05.06.jpg That carburetor looks awfully similar to a GL1000 carbureto...

More than likely under the trunk! I relocated mine with short extensions. The flasher relays are pretty robust and seem to have an extremely low failure rate, but when they fail it is a PIA to get to them.

Re: State Motorcycle Laws

I am looking at your list of Oklahoma motorcycle laws and I see the last one says "Accept Motorcycle Endorsement From Other States" . That's something I hope every state accepts. I've never even considered the possibility my license would be invalid anywhere in the USA or Canada. I wonder if that a...

I disassembled the switch and cleaned and lubricated it. But you get to see what is in there. Admin has a great tip about putting the switch in a big plastic bag because there are springs that will attempt to escape.

Re: Looking for lighting suggestions, I dont mind a lot but lets not go to crazy

Replacing the incandescent bulbs with LEDs will be the quickest way to freshen up the look. The other way would require either modifying the existing parts yourself (like the reflector panels on the saddlebags and fairing) or purchasing aftermarket replacement parts. If you are handy with a solderin...

Re: new tires for my 1500

I put on a set of bias ply E4s in December and now have a little over 4K on them. They have a slightly harder compound in the center which should give you good mileage. The handling is just as good if not better than the E3 in the turns and our rain grooves don't seem to affect the 1500 at all. I wa...

Sounds like the employee of the merchant was not trained to reject the sale or could have been in on the fraud.

You should try a wolf whistle. I read where wolves are the natural predators of deer. That would clear the area.

You can't go wrong with a few more lights all around!
As far as the rear of the bike goes... there are also units that will initially flash your tail lights when you apply the brakes and then stay on steady. This is a good attention-getter.

Yup. They do look awesome with LEDs in them. LED Side 1.JPG First photo is with the flash, the second is without. The flash shows up the reflective pin-striping. Its black pin-stripe on a black bike. Re: 96 1500 Goldwing SE Speakers

A lot of us are using the Polk Audio DB401 for the rear and DB351 for the front. A little bit of the mounting flange must be snipped off on the 351's to accommodate the mounting screw, but they will fit right in and sound great. I believe these are also weather resistant as were the stock speakers. ...
