Re: How to remove and replace your front wheel

Great article your descriptions are super. This forum has improved my skills at repairing, maintaining and improving my 1988 GL and for that I'm most appreciative. Keep the info coming and have a safe season.

Toasty Feet

Got a great pair of heated insoles Nov 9 and have ridden in 35degree temps. And they kept the toes toasty. They are remote controlled Medium High or No Heat. Made by ThermaCELL the heating element is in toe and ball of foot area only but work like a dream. This and the heated grips will allow me to ...

Re: I might have waited just a slight bit too late...

Rode Saturday in 60s and had a wonderful ride here in Kansas. I made a jumper from the G/W to a bolt and the bike runs in gear now. Thank you so very much.
Now I am told that that switch is discontinued would you have any ideas where I might find one?

I have connected the green wire to the g/w wire to no avail I'll try separating the two and connecting the W/G to a ground I don't think the stand down light has ever worked.

Kickstand kill switch

This plunger switch on my 88 1500 wing will not allow the bike to go into gear. It just dies like the stand is down when it isn't. Does anyone know how to disable this so I can get it home.

Re: Fuel Mileage poll

I have an 88 GL 1500 and with 102 octane fuel I am averaging 47mpg single rider city/hwy combo. On 87 octane it drops to 41 mpg. Really like the power boost with the 102 fuel.

Re: That horrible CRUNCH sound

Good to hear your heads up rider. Here in Topeka we just had a 83 year old wing rider rear ended and then sandwiched at a stop light and killed. The truck that hit him didn't even apply breaks either hope there is an investigation on the cell phone usage of that driver.

Re: How to LED your windshield

I do like the effect of just having the outer edge glow. So I took one 12v LED and placed (with crazy glue) it against the slot in the Memphis shade that I run and it gave a perfect glow to any raw edge, like around the center vent and behind my Iron Butt sticker.
