Re: Ever got rid of a bike you wish you hadn't?

Kawasaki Z1000ST
Each GoldWing
I do not regret selling them, I miss the memories of them, and the get up and go, 32" waist, 11st, sleeping bag on the grass, no aches and pains etc etc.

Re: 2012 Intermittent Starting Problem

If it happens again, a few things to toss in.
Intermittent possibilities

Side stand switch connector.
Bank angle Sensor, or connector.
Reverse switch stuck in a fraction, apparently just enough to let it crank but not fire (not tried this myself).
Pull the headlight fuse.

Re: Best Goldwing Tyre

Ypu will not fit any of the tyre brands mentioned above and not like them. You may from future experience believe you prefer one brand over another, could be weight, set up, riding style, weather, surface, pr kust confidence in the mame. As I said, I could not say what the best tyre is, but what I w...

Re: Best Goldwing Tyre

MO there is no "best tyre". the best tyre 'for me' on a solo are Bridgestone, why, handling confidence, I have used them for yonks. I know I can bank a solo into a bend as far as it will go, not as far as I have the guts to take it. No better than Avon or Dunlop etc, Tyres are so good today, mileage...

Re: Miles on the Bike

I like to be out by daybreak if the forecast is good, especially when clear sky is forecast, like to be in a nice spot to watch the sunrise while cooking breakfast. A long ride for me is about 400 miles, which is not that often, I never do less than 150 miles on a day out. More a journey than destin...

Re: Moly paste or grease.... UK RIDERS

That Comma Moly Grease NLGI 2 is fine, used it for decades, popular, and has good reviews.

I wanted to try some Honda oil several years ago. Went to 3 dealers, all they seemed to sell was Motul, "We don't stock or sell Honda oil, too expensive, and no one buys it"

Re: Fork Rebuild

Sounds good matey peeps. I have 4 degree rake also, but the forks were not extended when I bought it, got some extended caps from Chuck at CTC. I would go for springs rather than cartridges, but that is just me, not saying anything is better than the other, but more in a cartridge to go wrong I feel...

Re: Fork Rebuild

Why do you want to upgrade the springs, are you bottoming the forks. MO the design is piss, one damper, anti dive on one side, linked braking. On a trike conversion, the set up is rubbish. Get rid of anti dive. Get rid of linked braking. Use rear brakes only. Then decide if you want stiffer front fo...

Re: 4"x6" speakers in the dash?

Always wanted to bass blast on a bike just for kicks. Its just something U do not see. I set out to have a better amp chip, to replace Mickey Mouse chip, in the cheap as chips unit, that would not even run the Polk speakers I installed. Ended up completely re wiring system, twin 47Ah batteries, hig...

G'day to All! :D Here in the Oz we ride on the wrong (or left) side of the road, this makes it difficult I can relate to that, over here it's nod city. Re: Electrical issue, GL 1800

You have not mentioned the fully charged battery voltage, before and after fitting. You have not mentioned the charge rate (unless I have missed something). Fit a fully charged battery, check the voltage, and the charge rate as soon as it starts, leave the test meter connected until it cuts out, and...

Depends upon the "few problems", and the service history of the "Looks good to go". To me, good to go, is nothing needing servicing that is near due or overdue.
Can you check MOT history in the US

Re: Show Chrome Low Contour Rack Install Question

The way Deputy did it may be fine for him and many others, each to their own. But taping washers between the lid and inner cover void space, is testimony to how good the design and fitting instructions are. It is to me as if BBP could not be bothered to take the inner cover off, did not fancy people...

Re: Show Chrome Low Contour Rack Install Question

You may need to modify the fittings, but definitely fit it as Viking suggested. The instructions do not hint, they instruct to drill through the inner cover, what a load of rubbish. Probably afraid to put in writing to tell someone to remove the inner cover and locking staples, because they know wha...

Only been on sale 5 minutes, be interesting to see how much rock damage is caused when more hit the road next year.
