Re: Wing threw a timing belt ... what now?

Odds of a recent timing belt breaking can be 50/50, odds it happening to a Honda or Gates belt is something I have never heard of. If there was a actual BANG, then something may have come adrift or fractured, which may or may not be better than throwing a timing belt, good luck.

Re: Cool Trailer -seeking info

Certainly looks inspired by CSC. Judging by the rivets and welding, piano type lid hinge, garage door type lid lock, light bar and lights, spray job, and the exposed angle iron A frame on the draw bar, it could be home made.

Every biker should experience the TT. Words and videos come no where near what it is like. At least a years swearing in one day.

It makes track events like

Thanks for posting the pic, never seen barke pads before. Perhaps the plate is carbon and Kevlar, and the lining is wood, at least they wood not wear your rotors.

Re: Looking for 1800 advice, tough year!

Pleased you got what you hoped for. I am sure working on the 93 will be therapeutic. Good luck with whatever you decide to do 1800 wise. I read in earlier posts about the ride height of the 1800. I put Progressive springs on a 1500 Aspencade, and a Saddlemen Road sofa, I could not touch the floor wi...

Re: Front fork rebuild

tom, when you say "The front end does not absorb much shock at all," what do you mean. Are you lightweight and the forks are too stiff???. You do not want to be buying Progressive springs, unscrew the caps, and pull out Progressive springs, or have too much oil, or a heavy grade. My advice would be ...

tam, if you think the lock is anything special because of a tube type key, they are not, about the same price as a good one with a blade type key.

It is built around an open face helmet. I saw a face plate at a mates, asked him if I could borrow it. Butchered and modified two helmets to work out how to attach the face plate. Re: Need a test ride

Do not know where I got trike from, but same applies to a solo, dealer is not insured for the public to ride them for pleasure. As MikeB said, GoldWing dealers have test ride bikes supplied by Honda. In my experience, they are always a new model, and the test bike, is usually always the first to arr...

I dig the profile picture of the "Predator" on the bike, CLASSIC!! Still work in progress, just added more dreadlocks, mixed several gun metal shades for finish coat but undecided. ywFN4Y8.jpg yOguQZY.jpg KfYeQVE.jpg By the way, could not believe what happened to your Wing, I was lost for words.

Re: Need a test ride

Wanting a test ride on a used GoldWing trike is a different kettle of fish, no such thing as a GoldWing trike. New conversions are to order, so already owned by someone. Dealer insurance on used machines covers theft, and use by employees for business only, does not cover people riding around on the...

Re: Left Compartment on 2008 GL1800

$100 bloody hell what a rip off, does the seller go to fit it. All you need is a cam lock and a stainless or rubber cover or cap, drill a hole in the lid, and a slot in the pocket, or fit so cam slides under release button to prevent it being pushed down. about a fiver on the www. bought one a year ...

Hiya T. MO. Buy any GoldWing built in Ohio. Every one of my GoldWings have been a US model import. 36 years riding nothing but GoldWings, never interested in UK spec/model whatsoever, and never will be. US imports loaded with extras, compared to UK rubbish. Unfortunately, since Honda stopped buildin...

Re: 2012 Intermittent Starting Problem

If it happens again, a few things to toss in.
Intermittent possibilities

Side stand switch connector.
Bank angle Sensor, or connector.
Reverse switch stuck in a fraction, apparently just enough to let it crank but not fire (not tried this myself).
Pull the headlight fuse.

Re: Best Goldwing Tyre

MO there is no "best tyre". the best tyre 'for me' on a solo are Bridgestone, why, handling confidence, I have used them for yonks. I know I can bank a solo into a bend as far as it will go, not as far as I have the guts to take it. No better than Avon or Dunlop etc, Tyres are so good today, mileage...
