So two new color choices? Are those additional colors or that’s it just those two?

You must be referring to 3M VHB. I use 4611 on all steel and plastic chromed trim and covers, only needs a bit.

Front crank cover

and side covers.

Re: What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you with your Goldwing?

I have done the embarrassing kill switch thing at a Light Parade. I never wave back at children unless stationary, parade came to a halt, so there I sat waving at a group of children, when the engine cut out. A couple of spectators started pushing me, frantically scanning, voltmeter read 12v, all th...

Re: How to install a backup starter switch.

Straight forward approach..... but have several additional question. What gauge wire did you use/recommend? Does it activate the reverse function as well? Thank you Good questions, did not think to add that, perhaps WA can add it to the How to. I used 1.0mm² 32/0.20 AWG 17. Use thin wall if you wan...

Re: What's the funniest thing that ever happened to you with your Goldwing?

We had been to a weekend ride-in in Georgia. Returning to Tennessee on a besutiful Autumn Sunday, the wife asked to see the Cherohalla Skyway. Of course, to get back North of Knoxville, we would then need to go up US129 "the Dragon". After the great ride up Cherohalla, we pulled into Deal's Gap. I ...

I am liking how the black one is half chrome, and the white one is half black. Also liking how they make for every quid that is spent on development, a fiver is cut from production sound so good, paint for starters.

Re: How to Check your oil: You're doing it WRONG!

Great quality vid WA.
"Are you doing it right" would be WAY better than "You're doing it WRONG" implying you are the only GoldWing owner who knows how to check the oil.
Probably would have more than 29 likes, or am I being British.

Re: Winter store...

If I think about it, I would just lift up the front wheel, and really stuff a firm cushion under it. I run Big Blue up onto old leather seat cushions after last ride. If I forget I leave it. All this bike suspending, I would not trust tyres that could not stand indoors over winter. I never suspend t...

Re: Engine guards bent?

I have a 2000 Goldwing that had the same problem with engine guard being close to valve covers. i just stuck a long prybar between the horizontal part of the engine guard and the cylinder head near the end the guard and bent down until i got the room i needed for my Kury ergo mounts. That took some...

Re: Engine guards bent?

No idea who made the factory guards Doug, or who actually makes the aftermarket ones, I believe one is not superior to the other though, I fitted aftermarket guards to my last Aspencade because they were too tarnished and pitted. Since they changed the style in 1997 will the older versions even be ...

That is some more pretty pics of the 1500. Looks like we started riding Goldwings about the same time (39 years for me). I got my 1st one (79 GL1000) in 1980 and have had at least one of all the versions except the 1800. This is my current ride. IMG_1245 a.JPG Sat on my first Goldwing at a Wing dea...

Re: Tires and Brake Pads

For brake pads, I prefer the stock organic pads. They have been hard to beat for performance and I don't have to worry about them ruining the discs, like some metallic pads will do. The absolute best tire for a 1500 is the Austone( IMHO), but I've also had great results with the Bridgestone Excedra...

Your case guards are known as 98 style (1998>) Case guards on one of my 1500's, known as 88 style (1988>1997)

your guards are not bent, just classic Honda cheap as chips.

Change yours for 88 style, they are easy to get in the US I would imagine.

Well you should have, whiplash etc, take his insurance for every penny you can get, not that I advocate it. Rear end shunting should carry a mandatory penalty of driving without due care and attention, and hefty fine. Teach the asswipes to pay attention.
