Re: Michelin rear tire on front reversed

A trike is a different animal and I think the main concern on 2 wheels is chanelling the wet stuff. After 9k on the michelin rear front tire I am very pleased with it. I mounted it according to factory recommended rotation. :)

1997 gl1500 SE alternator noise??

Hello all, I have enjoyed riding, riding, riding! Thanks for helping me get the bike just about perfect. I still have this little noise which I assumed was timing belt whine after I changed them. But after checking them again for correct tension, and now after 3500 miles, I am remembering another po...

Re: How to install Dyna Beads in your tires

I used an extra long tube that would hold the entire 2oz. One good shot of air in the top of the tube and the entire 2oz. were injected in to the tire. :D

Re: How to remove and replace your timing belts

Well I just realized I could reply to a DIY article and I too must echo the praises for these easy to follow instruction sets. I used them to change the belts on my 1500 SE. I also used the gates belts that I think makes all the others except the goodyear. ;)

Alternative side cover grommet pin repair

In applying the finishing touch to my 'new' 1500 SE I had a couple broken pins to repair. I am sure most of you know of the ABS glue method. I used a material that I believe makes an actually stronger bond with a rubber backing. The patch adhesive used here is a square cut from common roofers alumin...

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

 you nailed it roadrogue! I have been buzzing here in the 'wings' waiting for the bumblebee example. I chose a moto tire on the rear for greater design certainty over proven time. I care alot about my hide. But with a long enough history in the industry to better access it, who knows?

Re: Darkside Tech: Using Car Tires on a Motorcycle Rim

Thank you Admin. Great analysis vs. 'opinion'. I saw this on the goldwingfacts site and promptly mounted a new dunlop e3 rear tire :D I have a few miles left on the front and am considering a rear on the front 'not backwards' but mounted as designed. It makes sense if the tire and rim are a perfect ...

Re: grrrr not a good day

Kewl. Yes I use a tankless in Colorado as it is easier to winterize. That full tank would have to be drained or would be frozen busted upon every return. The tankless are very efficient if you use the larger watt ones with the 3/4 size f.i.p. fittings. There ya go friend. Sounds you are taking every...

Re: grrrr not a good day

:o ohhh sorry admin. The bright side is you are a good mechanic and so will not get stung nearly as bad as if you were not. Like my water heater just went out and I knew how to fix it. 32.00 for two new elements, flush the tank and good for another several years.(hope this helps) :)

Thanks all. I agree VTX. Good Idea Wingadmin! That is common sense popcorn DingDong ;) I'll be mounting a michelin rear on the front in the correct direction it was designed for. Michelin rear tire on front reversed

Heya Seniors. Is this recommended? Common? New trend? The brand threads go on endlessly I am sure but this seems to be a technical safety question. The michelin has good reviews but apparently is not offered in the standard goldwing front tire size of 130-70r-18. Do any of you run a front tire a lit...

Re: Useful trickle charger installation

I am using a schumaker 1.5 amp that cuts off when the battery is charged. Even a 2 amp is too large for a motorcycle battery especially if left on with no cutoff. There is an exact formula you can research online for the battery amp to charger ratio. And batteries do vary in amp ratings. It is impor...
