Re: Can this be done ?
Hello everyone, That might be a silly question, but if you remove your factory radio and replace it with something else, how will you make it fit? Thanks, Gilles Honda made a filler panel for the 91 1500 interstate that bolts where the radio mounts. The panel was only made in bison brown so I would...

Re: Can this be done ?
If you remove the LCD display you wont be able to tell how much air is in the rear shock. If that matters to you. I am thinking about going the same route as you and ripping out my radio also.

Re: bike making strange sound
I put an E3 on the rear of mine and it makes the same noise from 25 mph to 35 mph. It doesn't matter if i'm going straight or turning, clutch in or out, accelerating or decelerating. Mine does it louder on smoother pavement. I was worried about it at first and took the rear tire off and checked ever...

So you're putting Harley air in a Goldwing. Better watch out, parts might start falling off.
Just Kidding. I have progressive springs and they say not to run air with them.

Re: 88 gl1500 off idle hesitation theory
They can be left on the bike IF you have a right angle #2 Phillips.Theres one screw in a tight spot on the bottom right side of the pump. You do need to lift the top plate to get the riser tube out.Tight quarters to work in but quicker than pulling the whole assembly. After I repaired the pump,I "ad...

Re: GL1500, changing old sound to new
I'm not to worried about the radio frequency etc not being displayed etc but would it cut all of the display such as clock and air pressure? I disconnected my radio today trying to locate a short in my speaker wires so I started the bike to see what all is affected with the radio removed. The clock...

Re: 96 GL1500i Air shock
I went looking for the rebuild kit at cyclmax, but all I found was a new boot. Any link to it? Mines fine right now, but my boot is torn, and figured if I was going to remove the one, I might as well rebuild it all, if it isn't too expensive. Here is a link to the parts for the air shock. It's for ...

Re: GL1500 How to Luggage and Tail LED's
Well I got my parts in today and the resistors are wrong (too much resistance). I ordered part number 2711131 from the post above and I got 100K ohm. The correct part number for 100 ohm is 2711311 if anyone is wanting to do this mod.

Re: GL1500 How to Luggage and Tail LED's
The part came from Radio Shack. The diodes are 276-1103. The resistors are 2711131 . Ride Safe Rich I know this is an old thread but I ordered this part number from Radio shack and they show up as 100k ohm resistors. Did I order the right ones? Here is the link for the resistors http://www.radiosha...

Re: Valve guide seals
I read somewhere that it is common for the 1500s to smoke a little on startup if it has been sitting on the side stand for a while. Mine does it also if it is parked for a couple days, I found out that if I park it on the center stand then it doesnt smoke much if any at all.

Re: New 1500 - new cam belts?
I replaced my belts the first week I had my bike. When I tore into it, I found that the left cam was 180 deg out of time. It was hard to start and didnt have any power untill 4000 rpms. It ran like a big three cylinder. I thought I was going to have to remove the head but I turned the engine where n...

Have you checked the coolant overflow bottle? The hose fitting on top is known to leak on some 1500s after they get some age on them.
