Well he passed away a few years ago and the bike has just sat in the garage. Knowing that I rided a Gold Wing she ask me to take a look at it because she wants to sale...

Re: MFI light and lope/die at idle

I'm wondering if it could be related to the Crank Shaft Position sensor or the Cam Shaft Position sensors, if your MFI light comes on with an increase in RPM, the 2 could be related.

Check your connectors where you unplugged them and see if there isn't any bent pins.

Re: Newbie, sorry but can’t find answer!

Hi there! Strange question after reading that lots of people prefer the change their instrument panel color but I actually like the factory grey color on my titanium 2004. That said, I have a couple of small wear/scratch marks that would look better with some grey touch up over them instead of the ...

I just looked up the oil filter for a GL1800 on Rock Auto, they list the WIX filter as a direct factory replacement, the price is right also. https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/wix,5 ... ilter,5340

You have to look it up by the Honda P/N 15010MCEH51

Re: Is the 1800 any faster ?

My GL 1500 was comfortable riding down the hiway at 65-70 mph all day long, my GL 1800 is the same, however, it will do just fine at 85-90 mph. I like to ride to enjoy the ride, so I stay off the interstates as much as possible.

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

Viking, I really enjoyed your post, for me it was spot on. I can relate to your statement about, "It was my psychiatrist, and I got back home at least partially sane" I'm a Vietnam Combat Veteran, and my Gold Wing is still my psychiatrist, nothing relaxes me more that getting out on the Wing and jus...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800

The style of riding that us who are using car tires is called "touring", and mostly two up touring, also trailer towing on long trips. I would not at all suggest a CT be used on a sport bike/crotch rocket or road race bike. As I am sure you do not believe the lean angles and G loads are the same wi...

Re: Auto Tire on the Rear, GL1800

Let me start this off by saying that I really don't care what type of tire you install on your bike. A car tire and a motorcycle are fundamentally different and there is a reason for this, riding on 4 wheels and riding on 2 wheels are fundamentally different. I believe that if car tires were the sam...

Re: Which tire?

I had E-4's installed on my 1800 in August, they replaced the Bridgestones. I've put about 2,000 miles on them and I must say I like them a lot. They handle very well in the rain and they are pretty quite.

Re: Arrowhead Alternator

I've install a couple of the Lactrical alternators of 1500's, haven't had an issue with them. It's been about 5 years since I installed them and the owners of the 1500's said they are still working fine. I installed their 90 Amp Hi-Output alternator.

I built my own harness for the LED's on my bike. Each LED string has it own connector to allow for removal if needed. My LED strings are RGB which require 4 wires per string. Mine are powered from the fuse box accy fuse to a 3 switch assembly mounted on the hand brake master cylinder. http://cyclema...
