Re: My Fall trip 2018

You have a map site (spotwaller) in there, but no actual mapping.

There should be a "test" ride. Trip starts in the 15th, web set to start tracking it Saturday morning 6AM.

Thanks for checking in.

"But I'm guessing I'd have to replace the bushing in the levers"

That lest the bushing are easy. Check the the lock nut to be sure it not to tight just a little will keep the lever from going all the way out.

" I would like to replace the high beams as well, 2006 GL1800, but looks like you need to take part of the fairing apart to do it and no clue where to start." I too have an 06 for the high beams I pulled the pockets and the dash /speaker cover to do them. Yes tight but doable. peppilepew As for new...

Re: Electrical Connection LED Headlight

I have the EC led's on my 06 GL 1800. Love them. Two notes of caution. One I had one driver box fall down and block the triple tree from turning. The tape that comes with kit, tore in two. Cleaned it up and use Gorilla double side tape and wire tied it up. Two I have the modulator on the high beams....

Re: 2nd Annual GoldwingDocs Gathering - Sep 13-16, 2018

Hi Brian, If last year was any indication, there's NOTHING formal about this group! A few people have some ideas as to where we might ride, but as far as I know, nothing is set in stone. Most likely start daily rides about 9:00am. No vendors, no activities as such, lunch a diner somewhere, maybe dr...

I enjoyed last years Gathering, but will not be able to make this one as is at the same time as 50 year HS reunion. See most likely in 2019.

Re: Things to look for when buying a used GL1800

I got my 06 with 40000 miles on it. About 50000 drive line gave trouble, not for sure if drive shaft or diff, I got each from a trike shop with low miles for 50.00 each. Was drive shaft. The brake recall had not been done, first thing I had fixed. Shock started leaking some, I found they had been wo...

Re: Whats on YOUR Bucket List ?

Chickenlegs
My 2018 bucket list ride.. is to take the wing to "little Switzerland" (Ouray, CO.) then take the "Million Dollar Highway" (550) to Silverton, CO. then back home to Nebraska.

Is a very nice ride! Depending how you get there think about Rocky Mountain Nat Park and MT Evans.

Enjoy I did.

Re: LED Headlight replacement: all 4 now or just low beams?

I had replaced my low's with Electrical Connections LEDs last year. I like the lights, ordered an other set for the high side while I was at it installed pathBlazer head light modulator. Doing a few other things I looked at it "ok" let go ahead and take the shelter and the dash cover off. Gave the r...

Re: After market seats or saddle

I would pass on the Saddleman's seat too. I ordered one from Chrome World (they were great) for my GL1500. Took forever to get, Chrome World even called then to see what was the hold up. Saddleman was waiting for the material to sew the armrest. ( should of sent seat then followed up with the armres...

Re: 6 pole trailer light plug

I for one do not like the metal 6 pole plug. If you have it mount on the hitch you must live with it on all the time or have to mount in some way into the bike. I walk into now and them. I like the (rubber type) just wire tie it up and out of way when not needed. Pictures are from trailer side (ease...

To find the wires with the lamp connector 'buttons' on them try buying a cheap trailer tail light from Walmart and open it up. You will find the two wires, spring, and insulating disc that will fit into your socket That maybe the hard way of getting the "pig tails" . I work for O'Reilly auto parts a...
