Re: SoCalMotoGear Pathfinder LED Headlights - 2nd Generation

I bought my Pathfinder LED Headlights in January. Finally got around to putting them on my 2006 GL1800. The instructions tell you how to put on the low beams but recommends that you use a qualified Honda mechanic to put in the hi beams. A 3-4 hour job. Well, being that I don't like paying that much ...

Re: ride to a stranger?

Since I am in the process of selling my 1982 GL1100 Aspencade I took interest in this posting. I just talked to a gentleman on the phone and he may be out on Sunday to look at it. He doesn't have a car so I did remind him of the winters here but since he is retired it doesn't appear to be an issue. ...

Re: LED Headlight Comparison: SoCalMotoGear vs Electrical Connection

I have a 2006 GL1800.

I bought the Pathfinder LED headlights.

I thought I had found a link for putting them in but can't find it now.

Does it exist or did I imagine it?

Thank you.

Ride Safe.

Re: ride to a stranger?

As far as tags are concerned, I keep mine. They can trailer it or ride it home but tags stay with me. If stopped, most police understand you're just trying to get it home. My best friend sold a car to a young college student and allowed her to keep the plates on with the understanding she would remo...

Re: ride to a stranger?

I don't know about anyone else but my answer would be NO. Why? Because I know nothing about him. Is he knowledgeable in how to be a passenger? Will he cause me to crash my motorcycle? There are too many scammers out there today. I don't really trust anyone I don't know around my motorcycles. Someone...

Re: Innovv K2 Dual Camera System Review

I have thought of under the luggage rack, to the side of the trunk towards the back. I'm just working on it. I am pretty sold on the camera because it sounds like what I want, especially the rear view. I have time because I can't buy it for another 1-3 months. I'm hoping closer to the 1 though. My G...

Re: Innovv K2 Dual Camera System Review

I've been thinking about this camera to replace my GoPro that of course only faces front. The thing holding me back is the trailer I tow. Putting it under the trunk is great protection for the camera but it definitely will be blocked by the trailer when I am towing. So I have been thinking of up abo...

Re: Drivers test bike

I can't tell you the year but I borrowed a sergeants CL350 at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas and took my test. I had learned to ride on a Honda CB550 so it was easy. Drove around town, full stops, taking turns. It was so easy that I passed it with no problem. Went out afterwards and bought my first b...

I would try www.randakks.com. They carry most everything carb related for goldwings.

I rebuilt my 1980 and 1982 carbs and they supplied the petcock repair kit also.

2006 GL1800

Can anyone direct me to a how to on replacing the lights in my right handlebar switch? The top half works fine but the bottom is totally burned out so trying to identify switches at night is next to impossible. I know where they are, I would like to find them easier. Thank you. Spring is almost here...

Re: Is Spring finally coming?

It hit 76 yesterday, high 60s today. Did I get out? You bet I did! I even rode to work, leaving in about an hour. It's gone from 57 to 38 but the sun is coming up and rain is forecast for Friday so I will probably take the truck tonight. So did my son, he went a lot further than I did and had a blas...

Is Spring finally coming?

We had a 56 degree day on Wednesday (3/20) so of course the motorcycles came out and my son and I rode out into the mountains. Beautiful ride but deeper in the mountains the temperature really dropped. Got down to 36 and we were in mesh gloves so we stopped in Jefferson Colorado and changed gloves t...

Re: the new SPOT X satellite transponder

Well, I am not at all sure why I have found mine on as often as I have. A couple times I noticed it said it was processing and wouldn't turn off unless I forced it to but I always check for that now. Who knows, maybe I missed it and it stayed on. Very possible since night work can make you a bit cra...

Sounds like a plan. I really didn't want to bother you with that because you run such a great site but I appreciate the time you took from you busy schedule to let me know. Until then, I will now wait patiently and when it's ready it will be ready. Thank you again for such a great site! Ride Safe.

Re: Uploading Pictures

Uploading works fine for me if I put the pictures in a post like here. But for adding pictures, I keep getting Temporarily Disabled and can't add them to any of my galleries. I'd write WingAdmin but I know he's busy so I hate to bother him.

I don't want to bother WingAdmin with this so I'll ask here. Uploading pictures has been off for a while due to the work WingAdmin did a while back. News is also off as far as I can see. Are both still turned off or are they back on and needing me to do something to reactivate it? Just curious if an...

Re: the new SPOT X satellite transponder

As a new owner of a Spot X, I have one thing that I need to figure out. I have found my Spot X turned on when I know that I turned it off all the way. I made sure that the unit powered all the way down with no messages saying it was working on anything. I'll pick it up later and it will be on again....

Calm before the storm

Yesterday was 66 and beautiful so my son and I got out to ride. Only covered about 120 miles but it was great. Today was blizzard conditions (welcome to Colorado) and 3-6” of snow, high winds so we are shut down again. The last picture is the snow plastered on my truck. At least 2” thick and I had t...

Re: How to remove, rebuild and reinstall your starter

When I rebuilt the starters on my 1980 and 1982 GL1100 motorcycles. The 1980 had 6 washers but the 1982 had 5 washers. I made sure I knew which side they went on, cleaned and rebuilt and had no problems with them from that point on. BTW, I have the 1982 GL1100 Aspencade up for sale. Spring is coming!
