Question about mirrors.

This is off my left mirror. The red plug is on both my right and left mirrors. First what type connector is that? It’s connecting to a wire going back into the bike. I have no idea where yet. Haven’t been able to trace it yet. It’s connected to the single wire, not the two next to each other. It say...

Re: Trailer picture thread

I got a used Bunkhouse Trailer about 3 years ago. 1998 model, listed as a 1989, for $2300. I was and am quite pleased with it. Bunkhouse went out of business but Bushtec might still be able to help if a new cover is needed. At least that is the impression I got when I emailed them about the possibil...

Re: Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

Last photos. One is the storm I headed into going home, next is cloudy and s mountain range, and last was my white knuckle ride over Vail Pass. Wet, cold, roads uncertain. I rode up behind two semis until they sped up and left me behind. Couple times I slipped but I made it and roads cleared pretty ...

Re: Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

Just a couple more photos from my trip. It was fun. Very short compared to my others. Only about 3,200 miles. Heading to Texas on Thursday.

Re: Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

Thank you Denver and I do agree. I was tossed off but in slow motion and definitely no injuries. Once I get home I’ll take things apart and see what I need to do. Until then, it’s rideable so I’ll enjoy it and finish out the trip. Just had the campground host stop by to look at the trailer. They lik...

Set up in El Cajon California for one more night. Rain everyday but a great time seeing things. Picture of the campsite below.

Re: Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

Well, third day out it wasn’t my day. Hit sand in a city park at the wrong speed, angle, and went down. Wasn’t fast, no injuries except my pride. The mirror is toast, broke the bottom right side cover, mirror cover, and scratched the hell out the fairing. Gives it character I guess.

Re: Questions regarding "older" men and Goldwings

I'm 63 and on my third Goldwing in only 5 years. I really wish I had gotten one sooner but I didn't. My current one is a 2006 GL1800. I like the stability and ride of them. As far as the heated seat and grips, I find them very useful on those cold mornings. The seat takes its time warming up but I s...

Re: Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

I leave on Sunday. I put a new brake controller container on. The old one was plastic and was starting to wear out. I bought a stainless steel lunch box and drilled holes to hold it. Have to but different screws to hold the lid because the ones I got are too small. Can’t drill into the lid with that...

Re: Fork Seal Repacement

I would consider replacing the O rings at the top but really that's about it. The springs can settle but I know next to nothing about the fork springs. If you can, I would consider putting boots on the fork to protect them from bugs. They won't always fit but I would see if I could. My 1979 XS750 ne...

Re: Fork Seal Repacement

I don't think you're describing the drain screw. Those are mounted on the outside of the forks easily accessible. They won't spin unless they're stripped out. I don't know the exact name but I think you're looking at the bolt on the bottom of the fork that holds the bottom pipe. If so, that will spi...

Getting the Bunkhouse ready for vacation

I broke a wire last year and figure I'll fix it before the snow comes back in Monday. Then I start cleaning inside. I never thought mice would get into the trailer so I left the lid up. Guess what! Those little critters get into everything and they were all through the lower section of the trailer. ...

Re: SoCalMotoGear Pathfinder LED Headlights - 2nd Generation

I bought my Pathfinder LED Headlights in January. Finally got around to putting them on my 2006 GL1800. The instructions tell you how to put on the low beams but recommends that you use a qualified Honda mechanic to put in the hi beams. A 3-4 hour job. Well, being that I don't like paying that much ...

Re: ride to a stranger?

Since I am in the process of selling my 1982 GL1100 Aspencade I took interest in this posting. I just talked to a gentleman on the phone and he may be out on Sunday to look at it. He doesn't have a car so I did remind him of the winters here but since he is retired it doesn't appear to be an issue. ...

Re: LED Headlight Comparison: SoCalMotoGear vs Electrical Connection

I have a 2006 GL1800.

I bought the Pathfinder LED headlights.

I thought I had found a link for putting them in but can't find it now.

Does it exist or did I imagine it?

Thank you.

Ride Safe.

Re: ride to a stranger?

As far as tags are concerned, I keep mine. They can trailer it or ride it home but tags stay with me. If stopped, most police understand you're just trying to get it home. My best friend sold a car to a young college student and allowed her to keep the plates on with the understanding she would remo...

Re: ride to a stranger?

I don't know about anyone else but my answer would be NO. Why? Because I know nothing about him. Is he knowledgeable in how to be a passenger? Will he cause me to crash my motorcycle? There are too many scammers out there today. I don't really trust anyone I don't know around my motorcycles. Someone...

Re: Innovv K2 Dual Camera System Review

I have thought of under the luggage rack, to the side of the trunk towards the back. I'm just working on it. I am pretty sold on the camera because it sounds like what I want, especially the rear view. I have time because I can't buy it for another 1-3 months. I'm hoping closer to the 1 though. My G...

Re: Innovv K2 Dual Camera System Review

I've been thinking about this camera to replace my GoPro that of course only faces front. The thing holding me back is the trailer I tow. Putting it under the trunk is great protection for the camera but it definitely will be blocked by the trailer when I am towing. So I have been thinking of up abo...

Re: Drivers test bike

I can't tell you the year but I borrowed a sergeants CL350 at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas and took my test. I had learned to ride on a Honda CB550 so it was easy. Drove around town, full stops, taking turns. It was so easy that I passed it with no problem. Went out afterwards and bought my first b...
