Re: Fork cap leaking.

Ok, so it looks like there is a difference between the 83 and the 86 O rings, not sure what it is, but it is. If your sure these are the correct ones, order one or 2 of them. Once you have them get back to me and we'll talk on how to go about changing them.

Re: Fork cap leaking.

I believe this is the OEM seal part number your looking for.......91356-MB4-003 and you can find it on this website.....www.partzilla.com Once you find it and purchase it/them, they are the same for both sides if memory serves me correctly. Which side is leaking, the side with 2 airline fittings or ...

Re: Air ride

I would go with Rambozo on this one. Finding NEW OEM rear shocks will be almost impossible to find, not to mention the cost would be astronomical. You can go with these rear shocks, or (if your lucky), find a rebuilding kit for your OEM shocks, tear them down and rebuild them, or start looking on eB...

Re: Air ride

Ok, theres a couple of different ways you can go with this. First is replace the shocks with new air shocks,(which aren't cheap btw), OR you can go with these.....https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=Honda+GL+1200+rear+shocks&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=+Hond...

Re: My Final Ride

I was thinking about going to a trike, but the problem for me would still be there, not being able to twist the throttle, squeeze the brake or clutch levers. Never thought i'd see the day that i'd have to end my motorcycle riding. Now I have an 86 Aspy SEi just sitting on my car port collecting dust...

Re: TIME TO GIVE UP THE BIKE

Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. I'm not going to give up the other things I enjoy just because I can no longer ride my motorcycle with the same confidence I once had. I had a good run with my bikes since 2011. I still have my shiny, new-to-me Lincoln which I baby like a bran...

In about an hour I leave to go to the VA hospital for my 2nd round of Nuclear Heart Stress Testing. Had the first round this past Friday. Wonderful. Love getting stuck with needles and radioactive dye shot into my body first thing in the mornings lol. Can't have my morning coffee, anything to eat, (...

Have you tried eBay? You might be able to pick one up at a "reasonable" price. try this link It'll bring up a whole page of flashers.......https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=1983+goldwing+gl1100+signal+flasher&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=1983+goldwing+gl110...

Re: Tire howl during turns

WingAdmin is correct about the tire cupping, but theres one other way that I know of to check it. If you can't SEE any signs of cupping, take your palm and slowly run it up and down on both sides of the tire, and do the same thing with your rear tire so you know what it SHOULD feel like. Workers in ...

Re: Starting issue, grinding?

If your going to do all that work, be advised that the springs inside the starter clutch are tiny, and once you remove the rollers you'll find 3 caps, once under each roller, the caps are about 1/4 inch long and they sit over the springs. Be very careful not to let the caps fly out because they are ...

Re: Starting issue, grinding?

Both my 83 and my 86 had the exact same problem. My solution was simply change the starter, but using Seafoam isn't a bad idea either. It might help to loosen up the starter clutch rollers.

Hi Chewy. Yeah, it does suck, but better safe than sorry. What makes it worse is I trucked my bike out here from Sweetwater Tennessee, and I was hoping that I would have many years worth of riding it since the weather here is almost always hot and dry, and I DO mean HOT lol. But I guess the "motorcy...

Re: TIME TO GIVE UP THE BIKE

Hello Grand Rouge, and greetings from Tucson Arizona. No, my riding motorcycle days are officially over. As much as I love them, I can't take the risk of getting into a situation that I might not be able to get out of. I went down on one bike and although I survived, i'm not going to tempt fate agai...

Re: TIME TO GIVE UP THE BIKE

Well, I went for my Nuke stress test and it was postponed. When I got there and was sitting in the chair waiting for the injection my heart went out of control and my pulse shot up to 175 bpm. Re: TIME TO GIVE UP THE BIKE

Hi jcn. Well, I never had the "experience" of dropping any of my bikes even when I had to stop short because a lady in a cage, not paying attention pulled out in front of me at a driveway. I was on my '81 GL500 silverwing interstate and even with that bike it was almost to the point where I was lean...

Hi SolinaDave. It's good hearing from you as well.
