Re: Lost a cover to wind!

Was sorry to hear of his passing. While it was available I bought a bunch of the panel keepers. Something I noticed was when I replaced the old rubber grommets the panels are very secure after. Its hard to pull the tupperware off the bike.

Re: Commander III tires

It is a little foggy on commander tires I was lookin at those too. They used to be rated for goldwings then not even though I'm not sure they changed anything. Some people do run them and like them. I prefered Avon Venoms but then they quit makin those too. Now I'm running Avon Cobras and they feel ...

Sorry to hear about your bike. Thats pretty much my luck too, nearly every vehicle I've owned has been hit and run or vandalized.

Yes to both. You might find the slave is the worse of the two. Its not unusual for this to happen they just occasionally need cleaned up/rebuilt.

Re: Preloading caliper with fluid

When I rebuilt my brakes and the system was empty I used a mityvac too just to get some fluid into the lines. Bench bleeding the master cylinder got rid of the extra air. Good luck with your brakes! :)

Re: Added a 2nd bike.. sorta

I've always thought Urals were super cool. Saw one for the first time in a retail store in a high end shopping mall (totally random) and I was blown away. They've been kinda on my radar since then, just never wanted to pony up for the cost! Maybe one day I'll add one to my garage. They are fun to r...

Re: Best Way to Clean Wheels?

Also used mothers aluminum polish as well and lots of elbow grease. Polished up its been holding up well. Polished aluminum has a certain quality to it that makes it look amazing. Next time I'd like to get a little help from a machine to polish.

Re: Rear Shock

I took my bike to Hagon's (In the UK) who used my 1990 Wing to develop a rear shock. The air bladder is retained and I love it. They can be found at http://www.hagon-shocks.co.uk/ but, for some reason, they don't list the 1500. They are very helpful people though. Could somebody buy this and do a q...

I think they call it naugahyde but yea its vinyl. Been using a vinyl car interior cleaner and conditioner with the UV stuff in it. It might be meguirs. And use protectant on the rest of the plastic stuff that can use it since its starting to get a bit brittle.... but doesn't look sunfaded or burned ...

Re: URGENT BRAKE PROBLEM

So your brake system emptied because the bleeder screw? Just trying to understand what happened. I used to use a mityvac to pull brake fluid thru empty brake lines I replaced or that were completely dry. But anymore I just do it the old school method of using a bottle with some brake fluid in it and...

Re: Brake issues.....

Its probably a cumulative kind of thing thats adding up to mushy brake feel. For replacing the brake lines you really have to disassemble a lot to get to them. The brake lines themselves are only rubber at the ends (maybe 10" of rubber hose). You could replace them with braided lines and see if it m...

Re: Problem fitting Wing Gear Trunk Lid Organizer

Really like this organizer and remember it was a bit fiddly to install. What worked for me was to put in the screws pretty loosely when lining everything up. Then I gradually tightened things up working from the center on out. After I did that the install seemed to go much better. Good luck with it....

Was lookin thru craigslist and came across 1999 SE with 19,375 miles, $6000. Color looks like seamist green? Located in a posh part of Pittsburgh so probably kept in a nice clean warm garage. There are lots of nice ones out there, enjoy your hunt. https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/bridgeville-...

Re: Buying a used 2000 SE 25th Anniversary Edition?

It does sound good. These bikes are generally a steal now because they arent much money and made so well. Checking it over and service records are great. Talking to the seller can tell you a lot. If everything looks good you still wont know until you bring it home and start changing fluids and filte...

I had LEOs follow me short distances when i happened to coincidentally be near a traffic accidents thinking i was a patrol bike. They quickly realized what i was and mov...

Re: SE vs Aspencade

Think I have forgotten a lot of the differences but SE's had toe warmer vents, spoiler w/ led light and adjustable passenger floorboards seems to come to mind. 2 tone paint (some SE's were 1 color) and SE badging. There should be a nice selection of goldwings for sale during riding season. I guess t...
