Re: Buying a used 2000 SE 25th Anniversary Edition?

Maybe this will cheer you up, a little more expensive than the other bike you were looking at but it looks pretty nice. :)

2000 Honda Goldwing SE, 1603 miles

Re: Buying a used 2000 SE 25th Anniversary Edition?

Was lookin thru craigslist and came across 1999 SE with 19,375 miles, $6000. Color looks like seamist green? Located in a posh part of Pittsburgh so probably kept in a nice clean warm garage. There are lots of nice ones out there, enjoy your hunt. https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/mcy/d/bridgeville-...

Re: Buying a used 2000 SE 25th Anniversary Edition?

It does sound good. These bikes are generally a steal now because they arent much money and made so well. Checking it over and service records are great. Talking to the seller can tell you a lot. If everything looks good you still wont know until you bring it home and start changing fluids and filte...

Re: Pros and cons of back off brake unit

Had a backoff setup to wigwag on my bike for awhile. Worked good and never had any issues with LEOs. It was actually the opposite. I had LEOs follow me short distances when i happened to coincidentally be near a traffic accidents thinking i was a patrol bike. They quickly realized what i was and mov...

Re: SE vs Aspencade

Think I have forgotten a lot of the differences but SE's had toe warmer vents, spoiler w/ led light and adjustable passenger floorboards seems to come to mind. 2 tone paint (some SE's were 1 color) and SE badging. There should be a nice selection of goldwings for sale during riding season. I guess t...

Re: left turn bias

34 lbs is very low (too low imho) a tire pressure but understand why shops do it. When I get my bike inspected they air down my tires the same way. Have you owned this bike for awhile and only just noticed this after mounting up radial tires? Could be when the wheel was reinstalled that it wasn't al...

Re: Heated jacket liner question?

I'm in the same boat as you. I bought a gerbings jacket liner when they were doing closeout sales. It was slightly big when I bought it but I've lost 57 lbs this year so I'm just swimming in the jacket now. What I'm hoping is to really synch down on my jackets to help the gerbings work better. Its n...

Sounds like progress. :D You might want to compare prices to Partzilla. Both really good although Partzilla sometimes has better pricing.

I live here but no I didn't go to Roar this year. I had just got my bike up and running and wasn't quite up to riding with that many people around yet. I'm gaining more confidence as time goes on. I have some in-laws in your neck of the woods, kinda, Fox Chapel... Its nice up in Erie I need to take...

Some banter going on about a sidecar... If you have never piloted a sidecar, I urge you to not go into one lightly. I spent a couple hours training on a sidecar recently, and it was an eye opener. It's physics. In most cases, a sidecar is kinda like a brick being carried along on the side of your b...

Have seen them and some similar. Personally I dont really care for them, although I've never ridden one so take my opinion with a grain of salt :) But I could see if thats what fits your budget and you can find a deal on one then it might make sense. If you need a trike there are a lot of them for s...

Re: Jumps and stalls when put in gear

Anytime, hope it goes well. I looked but didn't see any guides although people saying its similar to rebuilding the slave cylinder on a 1500 so thats good. I'm sure someone who has/had a 1200 will chime in and be more help than me. But I did find this blog that somebody did rebuilding there 1200 sla...

Re: Jumps and stalls when put in gear

I'm not familiar with the 1200's but sounds like its possible. The 1500's have a piston and rubber seal(s) so if the piston isn't pushing the pushrod to the clutch when you pull the lever the clutch wouldn't disengage. There isn't much to them and they aren't hard to service (on a 1500). You could t...

Re: Rebuild forks, flush before fill question

So giving some thoughts on replacing my top fork caps to make it a bit easier to do oil changes. Should I purchase #29 or #29? I can't tell the difference except one says 305 and the other says 505. I dont think its a right and left thing is it? Or am I overthinking this and should stay with what I...
