Re: Rear master cylinder GL100KZ

Thank you,I have seen this but I am unclear which way round the spring and two washers go. Most pictures in manuals are great for identification of parts but are not clear enough.

Rear master cylinder GL100KZ

Hi, I am rebuilding the rear brakes on my KZ as they were seized after laying idle for several years. I found that after I got the calliper rebuilt the master cylinder would not bleed so I suspected the master cylinder also needed attention so I bought a repair kit for it. However, when I stripped t...

Not starting

Hi all, I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a 1979 GL1000KZ and it has been stood for 6 years. I have done lots of work to bring it out again but it won’t start. There is petrol (gas) but I don’t see a spark at the plugs when the engine turns over. I also suspect that the carb...

Screen shot 2013-11-10 at 08.59.42.png The seal I am talking about is item 25 on the attached picture (thanks to Partzilla for the diagram). The tube with the seal fits into the cylinder head but is easy to catch and damage. Hope that helps to explain the problem. Regards Chris http://goldwingdocs....

Cylinder head fitting

Hi all. I am about to refit the right side cylinder head to my GL1500SE 1998 vintage. There is a small water seal at he top of the head. Which way round does this seal fit and are here any special precautions on fitting it; any suggestions about sealant etc. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Ch...

Re: 5-Pin DIN headset?

The mics on the GL1500 are not Vox operated. When you get the headset you will need to ensure that you have the extension lead as the lead on the bike is very short.

Enjoy your new "toy".

Chris.

Re: 5-Pin DIN headset?

We have both sets, Bluetooth and built in. On the GL1500 we use the built in system as it is easier but on our GL1000 we have to use Bluetooth but the downside is you have to keep charging the batteries.

Re: reverse

The major problem with using reverse as a parking brake is the constant use of the reverse switch. They have been known to fail because of constant use and this means the bike will not start as the switch tells the bike it is in reverse even though the reverse light is not showing. Not sure how the ...

Re: windscreen holder

I have found the clips I bought but cannot find any reference as to who made them. However, I photographed them and tried to include the picture but don't know how to; perhaps someone could tell me how to do it. Best wishes Chris http://goldwingdocs.com/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=11485

Re: windscreen holder

My windscreen has always slipped down, even when very new. To overcome this I bought a couple of clips that attach to the screen and screw up tight. They were from one of the main suppliers of aftermarket accessories.

Try one of their catalogues or one of the internet sales sites

Removing a cylinder head.

Hi. Due to a silly mistake I have to replace some valves on my GL1500SE 1998. I am at present trying to remove the right cylinder head. I have undone all the bolts, released the exhaust system and inlet manifold. The head is sort of loose except there is a black, metal pipe which comes out of the ba...

Radiator misery.

Whilst changing the pulse generators on my 1998 GL1500SE the neck of the right hand radiator broke. Have sourced a replacement and removed the right hand one. Was advised to remove the left hand one first as it makes it easier to get at the right one. Now the problem, anyone any suggestions as to ho...
