Re: Radio question

It should fit if it is the same radio. There are two radios. One has four knobs, auxiliary input, and no cassette. The other has five knobs, no auxiliary input, but, has cassette. The radio with only four knobs has a small display on it's front, (tuning and clock display), and no digital display in ...

Re: Broken Trunk Lid restraint cables

But, the electrical wiring doesn't have the tensile strength as the original cables so, I think that they probably won't last very long. I would be more likely to get some steel cable of the same diameter as the originals and then try to do the same thing as you did here. Good luck! Russell Those wh...

Give us a list of what you need and someone out here may have what you are looking for. Re: Bearing nois from engine or ?

I'd check the timing belt idler/tensioners. Especially if the timing belts have not been changed. You can take the timing belt covers off and use one of those cheap Harbor Freight stethoscopes to check for noise on the tensioner brackets. Sounds like some critter may have gotten inside and chewed a vacuum hose and caused a leak. All the hoses probably could need to be changed anyway due to age.

Re: GL1500 (1993) RUST IN THE TANK

Just hook up a long piece of hose to the fuel pump outlet and put 12 volt power to the fuel pump and pump it out into a bucket. Check your local auto parts store for a product to clean and coat the fuel tank. Then replace the 'sock' on the fuel pump before use. Russell Those who say it cannot be don...

My 86 Aspencade was running something like you describe and I found that I had no fuel in the right front carburetor. I removed the right pair and cleaned them out and reinstalled them. Try putting a nut driver in your cordless drill and turn the clutch all the way down to where it takes very little resistance to make the drill hammer. It may be able to break those nuts loose.

You might try just simply adjusting the seat back a notch or two. I am 5' 10" and it was quite a bit better when I adjusted the seat back one notch.

Re: GLl1500 radio

Short answer, NO. But you can add an input cable and run it over to the fairing pocket. The only one that had an aux input was the one without the cassette player. These had only four knobs on them and an aux input cable that extended to the left fairing pocket. If you want to add the aux cable you ...

Usually occurs because of negative tongue weight. Load your gear a little more toward the front of the trailer. You should probably have at least 20lbs of tongue weight at the coupler.

Re: Fuel Pump

First off, are you sure that you have power and ground to the pump? It doesn't matter what pump you are using if you have no power to run it. I had a similar problem with my 92 and found that many years of vibration at the handlebar had caused the connections under the kill switch to become loose an...

Re: 1987 GL1200A Turn signal wiring diagram

You may need to clean your turn signal switch. It could be too dirty to make a connection. If it is a basket case, as you say, it could be very possible.

I'm not sure but, Partzilla has the 93 GL1500A exhaust as 18150 MAM 003 and the 89 GL1500A as 18250 MAM 003.
Not sure what the difference would be but, maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer.

Re: Voltage Output 11 Volts at 3000 RPMs. Help!

Check your three yellow wires at the connector to the left of the battery. In fact this is one of Honda's bad ideas. If they had used a sealed connector there, it would not collect dust and dirt and then moisture. The moisture in that vertical plug causes corrosion and then resistance and then heat ...

Re: clock power

Depends on which model you have. The Interstate has the clock in the radio face so I think it may have a common power point. But, the Aspencade and SE both have the clock in the instrument panel which would have a separate power point although, they could be powered from the same relay or fuse. Russ...

Re: How to test loss of power to fuel pump

But, that won't help if you're not getting power to the pump. Check your kill switch. Many miles and years of vibration at the handlebar can cause the power connections under that switch to be loosened. I had the same trouble on the road and had to be towed home. If you have power on the same connectors on both bikes and neither headlight works on one bike then the only thing it can be is a bad ground. Sounds like the float valves are stuck closed. That is your idle adjustment knob. You can turn it to raise/lower your idle RPM. You may have to force some lubricant down into it as they have a tendency to freeze up.
