My 1500 started doing the sane thing at about 2200 to 2500 when I replaced the alternator with one made in China. Got the OEM rebuilt and put back on and problem gone.

That looks like it is leaking from your crank main seal. That's what's underneath that cover. In which case, your timing belts are likely contaminated with oil as well. Remove those three bolts and pull that round cover off, it will reveal the crank pulley. See if you can view oil on the case insid...

Thanks for the advice and comments. Had the hip done in May and was back to riding in July then in Oct. I had rotator cuff surgery and now i'm in Florida for the winter and riding almost every day and doing great.

oil leak
Engine oil leak on 1990 gl 1500 on the front of engine around the water pump. Drips hang on the bottom of water pump. Nothing coming from weep hole and oil filter not leaking. Any info appreciated

OEM Passenger Backrest
Need some help here. I have a 1990 Goldwing 1500 SE and l want to replace the entire seat with a OEM seat and passenger backrest that fits 98-2000. Dimensions are 17 1/2" wide. Are all gl 1500s the same width between rear speaker housing?

2008 Goldwing/Roadsmith trike starts good runs great until you stop for rest break or to get fuel then on startup with engine warm it acts as if it is loading up on fuel and will die if engine is not revved once back on the road it runs fine.
