Re: 2008 GL1800 MP3 Player

this is what I installed in my 2009. Works great 99% of the time. Once in a great while it will lock up and I have to shut the bike off and restart it. It comes with plug and play for the stock connections under the seat. I mounted it in my trunk. It has a memory card slot to put music on, so all yo...

Re: Low Beams not working

my 2009 lost both of the dims at the same time...………. I looked into everything before I just purchased two more dim bulbs and that was all it was. The dims are on all the time when the bike is running, they get hot and if you hit a pot hole like we have here in northern Indiana, there goes your dims...

installing a Kuryakan trailer hitch on a 2009 wing

Can anyone tell me if there is a step by step How-To article for installing a Kuryakan trailer hitch on a 2009 Goldwing. This is the $314 hitch that I purchased.

Thanks, Nitefuzz

Re: Seat covers

I use an air hawk air cushion with a sheep skin on top of it. This is on a Corbin seat and won't ride without it. Absolutely love it and can ride all day without any problems. I am 56 years old and 6'4", 235 lbs. Haven't done the iron butt ride but we have rode almost 800 miles before finding a...

Re: Ultimate seat owners question.....

My "09" I have a Corbin seat, absolutely love it, wouldn't have anything else. I have a piece of plastic in the bottom of one of my saddle bags that cover the seat and covers from the handlebars to the luggage rack where I use clothes pins to hold it in place and then throw my bike cover o...

I Thank all of you for your input, gave me a lot of good things to think about. Also, really like the hidden box that M61A1MECH came up with for the connector to be kept in when not in use.

Re: I GOT THE WOBBLE

My 09 had the wobble when deaccelerating between 35 and 40, changed my E3's out with E4's and the wobble was instantly gone. The old E3's were cupped I put up with it for over a year because there was to much tread life left. Finally made the decision to change it and am very happy. Have over 8000 m...

Wiring for a trailerto pull with my 2009 Wing

I am going to put a hitch on my 2009 Goldwing and need to know what I need to purchase for the wiring harness. When I look for wiring harnesses there seems to be several to choose from. Is this something that is easy to do, that I can do myself. Do I need to also purchase a bracket that holds the fl...

Cargo Trailer and Hitch for my 2009 1800 Wing

Hello everyone, Merry Christmas and happy new year to all. I am sure this has been discussed in the past but I am going to bring it up again for new comments from everyone's experience. What is the best hitch to purchase for a 2009 Goldwing and what is your thoughts on a single tire trailer that til...

Re: Do you look thru

I have a tall windshield and have been looking through it for several years. Went to this because it pushed the wind up and over the passenger (wife). She said this is better for her, I got use to looking through the windshield, not a big deal to me. The one thing I found was Rain-X for plexiglass a...

I have two remotes with my "09" Wing, mine does not open the saddle bags. If you hold down the trunk button for a few seconds it unlocks the trunk lid so you can just lift it to open it (you don't have to reach underneath to pull the handle. There is no button on the remote to make the sad...

Re: Dunlop Elite 4's

I put E4's on and have about 4000 miles on them, showing no wear on them at this point. My E3's that were on my 1800 when I got it were cupped bad and gave the wobble that everyone talks about. The new tires took care of the wobble and are feeling great. I put 2 oz of dyna beads in the front tire an...

Re: 1800 tires

I had E3's on my 2009 GL1800, they were cupped bad from the PO, I had wheel wobble between 35 and 40mph (only came when reducing speed) after putting on new E4's the wobble is completely gone. They ride excellent and no road noise. I have dyna beads in them also. 2 oz in the front tire and 3 oz in t...

Re: LED headlight bulbs

I changed out all of my tail lights, brake lights and turn signals to LED superbrights. The turn signal LED's I found with built in resistors and it stopped the hyper flash, didn't have to change my flasher to an LED flasher, I am very happy with the back of my wing. I have had many comments on how ...

Over the last couple years the LED's have evolved some in their technology and I am hoping that many of wing riders out there have tried different ones and can pass their experience on to us so we can make good decisions on what t...

Re: LED Lamps & Flasher for GL1800

The first LEDs I put in my rear turn signals went to hyper flash because of less electrical draw tells the Wing that there is a bulb burned out. I checked with our local dealership tech and he said the hyper flash will not harm the stock flasher but I decided I want it to flash a normal flash so I f...

Thanks for the info AZgl1800, the CRC I have is not the same as you posted, I will be going to Home Depot to look for the CRC 2-26, if I they have it I will be using that for now on instead of the WD-40.

Keep on Winging

My switch was sticking very badly so I decided to just leave it on and not mess with it. After seeing that light on, on my dash all the time I decided to tear into it and clean and lube it.
