Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.

have been wearing frogg toggs for several years and have stayed pretty dry. Have a Tulsa extra tall windshield and just got caught in a nice down pour a couple of weeks ago. Going to have to put something on the top of the windshield to keep the water from rolling over the top and down the inside of...

Re: Why did he crash ?

post links to videos most of them will be oh crap I'm going to fast into this corner freak out and crash, instead of down shift brake with rear brake and counter steer through corner. It really freaks a lot of folks out when your steering so hard in a corner that you start scrapping parts on the pav...

Re: After market seats or saddle

rode Harley Ultras for 10 years always put a Corbin on and loved them. Haven't gotten one yet for the Goldwing because of the price. Corbins are firm like a saddle on a horse so it gives you good support all day long. I miss my Corbin can't put but around a 150 miles on stock seat before I need a br...

Re: All you need to know about the new 2018 Goldwing

FYI for those that don't have Goldwing GPS systems. There is a setting on the GPS to show you POIs but most of the time they don't give all that much information. You can tell the difference between a gas pump and a slice of pizza but for others the fork/spoon plate don't tell you much just have to ...

Re: 10 Day Camping Trip with video updates!

As far as blind corners and idiots its always best to stay in the right 2/3rds of the road just in case. If your quick enough you can straighten up for half a second and get to the right but I don't always trust that I can do that. It is what it is!

Re: Riding in wind

Been riding for 40+ years and there is quit a difference between a bike with nothing on it and our Goldwings with all the Tuperware in the wind. I've had rides where I have rode many miles with steady and gusting winds in a constant leaning state. Shortly after purchasing my wing I was involved with...

Re: Error Free Ride

I'm a Road Captain for my Club http://www.blueknightstx1.org and any ride I conduct that no one wrecks is a good one. I've been doing the ride captain thing for 2 years and knock on wood the only thing that has happened on a trip is someone dropping their bike in a parking lot and me having a flat t...

Re: XM Satellite radio

My XM is built in to the 2012 system. I'm glad they keep giving free weeks during major holidays so I don't have to buy the service. Living where I do there is no reason to buy radio with so many channels to chose from. When I retire and move to the sticks I may purchase a plan. Every holiday ...

Re: Broke down 75 miles from home, my experience

Cindy, not sure on your trike but when you remove the left side panel and are looking at the battery the solenoid is on the right. If you are going to consider the whole bike technically it is behind the battery because it is aft of the battery if you start from the front of the bike but it can stil...

Re: motorcycle windshield wiper

I have thought of trying something like that but really don't get into enough situations for it to be a big problem. Like I said I try not to ride in the rain but if I run into it I will either stop for a long lunch or dinner or just get my micro fiber out of the front pocket and keep riding. :ugeek:

Re: motorcycle windshield wiper

Its funny the biggest problem I have in the rain is the rain coming over the windscreen and down the inside of my Tulsa extra tall. Keep a micro fiber towel in the left pocket pull it out wipe the water off and stuff is between the dash and windshield to keep it handy. Try my best to not ride in the...

Leather gloves from Home Depot or Lowes is all I have ever used and usually last two seasons i.e. 10 months every year and at least 10K miles a year. Just me and the cost is usually around $10 a pair. :D

Re: Gerbing's Microwire T5 Heated Gloves

I had the G3 gloves and was quite happy with them until I messed up the wires and couldn't fix them. Bought a new pair the T5 and love them as well. I also bought the jacket liner. They keep me toasty warm when it gets cold. Cold to me is anything below 40 here in Texas and I get to ride all year lo...

Re: New headset in new helmet

I bought a set of helmets from J&M over 10 years ago when I was riding a Harley. Loved them when it was time to get new helmets I just moved the speakers and mike over to the the new helmets. Got on the Goldwing and I started cussing the Goldwing system. Six months later I decided to go back to J&M ...

Haven't been on in a while and THANKS go out to WingAdmin for filling my shoes on the ABS. It was not an immediate sideways movement once I was on the plastic but it all seemed very quick to me when it happened.

And yes he did put out his cigarette before coming to my rescue.

Re: The brand-new 2018 Goldwing?

Ok this is it. You need ABS! Why you ask! Follow along I will try to make this a painless as possible. I had a 90's model Yamaha Venture Royal (pretty much the same as a GW) with a full tank of gas and I was headed to work at the ungodly hour of 2:30 AM. As you might imagine it was dark, I was on a ...

Re: 1998 GL1500 lights dim, engine doesn't start

Bus Driver start with some contact cleaner on the start switch may have to open up the handle to get in there good but a buddy had the same problem with an 1800 and that did the trick. Had to get into the handle on the 1800 to get it good.

Re: The brand-new 2018 Goldwing?

The weight issue between HD and GW I think I can provide some insight. Rode HD Ultra Classics for 10 years before the GW. Side by side curb weight is very close however it seems that the majority of the weight on the HD is lower thus it seems lighter. I can tell you having dropped both on the ground...
