Re: New To Me - Second 1985 Limited - New Project

Hello from N.C. Stator issues can be a bugger. Ensure all tests are done with the output voltage, shorts to ground, and amps testing, with the 3 yellow wires disconnected of course. Mine has about the same mileage, stator is just about shot. 2 legs of the stator good, one bad. She'll run around town...

Re: 89 installation of triple turndowns

Yes, I did notice that the clamps will fir up the the weld, then there is a small gap between the weld and the big round muffler. i was just wondering where the actual baffles are located so i don't cut too much off. I want o make sure I still retain some sort of backpressure for the engine to opera...

Re: 89 installation of triple turndowns

You have an excellent point with the extensions being lower. Even in the original turn down, it looks like a pipe within the pipe. Do you know how far the baffle is in? When I do cut them, I would just cut the turn down part so the extensions will fit straight. I'm just not sure how much to cut off ...

89 installation of triple turndowns

I have gained quite a bit of knowledge from many of the posts. I have searched for an answer to my question, couldn't find, so here it is: How much of the OEM exhaust tip has to be cut in order to fit triple turndowns. Mine has the longer peice that fits over stock tip in the middle of the turndowns...

I agree, J M seems the way to go. There are enough folks that have gone that way to provide answers to any questions setting up.

Re: 1983 Honda radio system – radio, cassette, CB

I am thinking about buying a 1100 Aspy that does not have the CB installed, never did. Do you know if the 82 Aspy's came with all the connections for a CB/intercom set up? If you still have it, lets talk.

85LTD engine oil leak

It doesn't drip after shut down and I can't see anything when it is running. However, somehow, there must be a seep somewhere that drips on the exhaust causing some smelly smoke. Granted, the bike does smoke a bit when started and there is smoke coming from some tube pointing down from the engine. A...

GL1100A CB

Where can I find a complete CB system for a 1100 Aspy? I am thinking of buying one but it doesn't have a CB. I would like to have something set up so I can communicate to others in the group and also have intercom to yak with my passenger. Well, I guess it would be nice if the passenger was able to ...

85 LTD AUTO LEVELING disconnected

I will be checking out an 85 LTD soon. The seller said that the previous owner disconnected the auto leveling system. Is there a way to service the front and rear manually and at what pressures? Also, tire pressures? 38F 40R? I guess I may have to get educated on the leveling system. The bike has 11...
