Yup that's the stuff I used. I still wonder if I can use lacquer over it tho. It would be cool to do some red pin strip over it...

Re: Time for a 3D printer?
I too have been thinking about a 3d printer (and a cnc router mill). My problem is, I cant justify either. In my "spare" time, I also fly Quad copters and I have been thinking about applications for that particular hobby. It's not the money, so much, it's space.

Hello! I just joined and thought I would say hi. Never really thought I would own a goldwing, but I got mine as a gift and fell in love with the bike. im also probably the youngest person I know riding one at only 23, I've grown up around motorcycles and riding. I've been riding for about 4 or 5 ye...

Re: I should of done this ages ago
That came out great. Is that just the seat, or seat back and rain cover pouch as well ? Also, what exact item is it on Ebay ? it came with the seat back upholstery but it didn't have the rain cover pouch (my only complaint) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-GL1500-Seat-Cover-set-GoldWing-1988-97-Aspen...

Re: I'm feeling dark... new Austone Taxi Tire
Thank you for the feed back on the taxi tire. Looks like I won't be changing over. An inch of additional height would make it too hard to get my leg over the bike.

I should of done this ages ago
I recently decided to recover the seat on the Mad Max Battle wing; I should of done this years ago. It wasn't easy, but not real hard. Took me about 4 hours. The kit, I purchased from ebay. The last picture is the seat before I started. The bike in the background is my roomates Road Glide, and yes I...

Yeah, if you ride for any length of time, you get cut off.... how do you handle it?

Re: 1500 Dead on the Road
change the fuses on the starter solenoid. Also check all connections on the starter Solenoid are tight. The Goldwing and many cars pull all voltage from the starter solenoid. I've had this happen with my gl1500. Turned out the blades on the fuses on the starter solenoid were corroded. It was a bugge...

Yeah, I've seen this on other forums. New user signs up and starts spamming away. Kind of a perfect storm with the new user signing up just as WingAdmin tries to take a weekend off. That will teach ya! Thanks for all you do here keeping this fantastic site going. :ugeek: This isn't on topic, but I ...

not always true on the cornering lights and CB. I have an 89 aspincade that has both. SE's have foot warmers too. (looks like a second headlight adjustment knob)

Helmet set up
This is not a conventional Hemet set up or topic that comes up in the Goldwing world. Motovlogging. It's something I do... I'm one of the few that do it on a gl1500. My Helmet camera is not a Gopro, it's a Zoom q4 and I use a lav mic in my helmet. Weight wise it feel the same as a gopro, even if it'...

Re: A tail of two dealers
I do not like my local dealer. I will not buy anything from them, if I can help it. All because I took my '82 in for a front tire, and they wouldn't change it due to the bikes age. I told them that I could understand that *if* I'd asked them to something more major, but it's just a front tire change...

Re: adding reverse to 1500I
Agreed. I don't think I'd buy a 1500 without it. especially where I have to park. Then there are those times (like on gravel) where you can push the bike, but you might slip. I'll use reverse in those cases, just so I don't dump the Platidiped wing battle wing.

Re: Picking up and Riding 800 miles
That's why I was saying get them from napa.... you can pre-order online and have them ready for pickup when you get there. Just have them go to a store near the bike. That way you wouldn't need to take them on the plane.

Re: floor boards
That's what I was thinking. Now I just have to find a set of pegs.
Again, do you know if I can use a set off another goldwing (1000, 1100, 1200?)
The bike is an '82 1100.

floor boards
My room mate just purchased a 82 aspincade (we think, it's an aspincade) and it has floor boards. We both hate them. I rode the bike, and it's hard to find the brake pedal, and it's a real pain to shift. We decided that they need to go. They look like Markum (or whatever) So to convert back, I need ...

Re: Should I be upset?
Yes, ABS plastic and Brake fluid, does not mix. I had the master cylinder top gasket leak some on the fearing on my '89 and I didn't catch it for a day or two.... Cracked the plastic, ate a piece of trim. Now I have to find a false tank side for mine. The trim is easy, the tank side, not so much. I'...

Re: Picking up and Riding 800 miles
I would find a local napa by the bike, order the timing belts and pick them up when I get there. That way you don't need to pack them. I'd change the timing belts, unless concrete and solid proof, a receipt, a sticker, etc on the bike before I would ride it home. Then when I get home, I'd change the...

Re: Wing Dip
With the wineberry paint really looking shabby and tired (and I loved the wineberry), this really cleaned up the bike. I still need to do a few things. The truck lid is really badly cracked and broken. I did re-enforce it ABS cement, but it's just sooo far gone at this point. I also will be redoing ...
