Hi folks,
My blinkers' rubber spacers cracked and I'm planning to replace them with something aftermarket.
Can anyone tell me the internal diameter of the spacer?
Thanks

Han
What spaced?

The one between the lens and the housing?

Pictures are always helpful.

with the led flasher the front signals barely light up. The original 552 flasher they light bright like they are supposed too.
Is the bike running while you are trying this?

GL blinkers tend to like a running bike.

Re: 78 foot gear selector hits exhaust, cannot downshift

Got an oem exhaust header from a same-year parts bike. Foot gear shift lever only locks in one place due to the design of the screw running up through and against the spline cut-out so I cannot push it back farther on the spline to gain clearance nor can I put it up a tooth to gain height because i...

Thank you so much Rambozo for confirming. I saw another post talking about that plastic stuff. Any idea what's the name of that part?
It's not a part you could get from Honda.

The speedo shop would either make one or adapt one from another speedo.

Believe my temp gauge works, at what point of the temp gauge should the radiator fan activate?
GL gauges are to be used for guesstimates only.

The worst of the 3 is the gas gauge.

Thank you, I remember reading that these were kick start along with electric start but it was removable and stored else where. I’m off to England today and didn’t have much time to play with it but where is it kept and where does it attach. If this is obvious I’m sure I’ll figure it out when I’m ho...

Re: $200 GL1000 barn find

Hey guys new to the forum and to Goldwings but I fell in love with this bike when I saw it at an auction and will soon have it up and running. It’s a 1979 GL1000 with ~10k original miles. I knocked the dust off it today but will not be able to touch it till I get back from my trip. Curious what peo...

I just picked up a 1977 GL1000 myself that was cafe'd to all hell. Poor girl has so many wires cut and missing parts. Thankfully the previous owner kept all the stock parts, so I have already put the stock bars back on, but with the entire harness in pieces, I will be using threads like these and t...

Re: Restoration started

This has to be a personal choice. What are you going to use the bike for when it's finished? If you plan on long trips, maybe with a passenger, then you'll undoubtedly see the benefit of the luggage space. If just using it for fun rides and day trips, you probably won't use the luggage capacity. Pe...

Re: Restoration started

Thanks for your info. I’m not sure of the manufacturer of my bags, I may be able to find a name on them somewhere. Max, Your Wing is a beautiful bike! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I do have another question, or maybe an opinion poll. ive been looking at goldwings for the past year. In that time resurrected an old 82 cb900, an 82 Cj7 and have previously built to daily driver status a 1970 bronco and a 1970 camaro. I am comfortable doing my own work. :) With that said, I have looked at, but never owned a goldwing. I have come acr...

Hello All, I introduced myself a week or so back. I just inherited a 1978 GL1000 very much in need of a fair amount of work. Re: Quality Head Gaskets that are Made in the USA

You can now get quality head gaskets for the GL1000 that are made in the USA. During the development process, Saber Cycle asked me to inspect and install a set on a 1977 GL1000 project bike that I was working on and I was impressed. It is nice to see "Made in the USA" on products again. If you need...

..... By "Gurgling" I was thinking you meant audible sound. re-read initial post, you were referring to bubbles in a clear fuel line. Doubtful it is air, just fuel vapors. I wouldn't worry about that, just like with a clear or translucent fuel filter, you'll never see it full of fuel unless it is p...

Thanks for your reply. However, I need to add a hose because when I really "push" the bike to high revs I get a spit of oil from that breather... I kept the hose as it was there. It just goes from the air filter housing to the bottom of the bike, there should be a clip that it fits into. Does your'...

Yes, no title. No worries a little title discussion in thread. Being the bike came from an Estate, I have the trail, and in California obtaining a new title isn't too bad, I've done this a number of times. That's something I'm going to tackle in the next month or so. Timing belts have been replaced...

Thanks for the explanation, Wingadmin. Kind of like our V5 (registration document), which gets sent back to our DVLA by the seller, then a new one issued to the buyer. Apologies, Apex, for the brief hijack of your thread. Maz There are some fairly easy ways to get around the title business. One of ...
