Re: RIDING IN THE RAIN.

Hi Everyone, riding in the Rain is when riders need to use extra Caution, give your self 3 times the following, and stoping distance. Be ever so gentle on the Brakes and Throttle. If possible pull over in a SAFE place NOT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD as there has been riders hit and some killed sitting o...

Re: A comparison between the 2018 and 2001 GoldWing

Here,s my update. I’ve been blessed to have owned 7 Wings going back to 1985. I’ve worked at Honda dealerships and riden all the years and experienced all of the changes in technology. That being said, after riding my 2018 Wing for 1,000 miles, it is so good , so advanced in technology, suspension, ...

X-MEN RADIO

Hi all, has anyone figured out how to set the Prests stations on the XM radio. The only thing I’ve read in the Navigation manual, is very veg and suggests to contact Serious XM which they don’t have a clue about the new Wing.

Re: FLUID WARNING

This is been the procedure with every HONDA I've owned for the past 40 years Dirt bikes, ATV's, Sport bike 750's, CBX, WINGS From 1985 to present 2018. NOT SCREWING IN THE DIP STICK. Very important though to not check it COLD, START AND RUN 3 TO 5 MINUTES AS THE MANUAL STATES.

Re: FLUID WARNING

I agree, I also worked at motorcycle & car dealerships, most of the tech’s are on flat rate pay meaning if it pays 1.0 = 1 hour to uncreate, Assemble mirrors Windshield etc, and wash. If it take the tech more than an hour he is losing money. So all those items on the PDI list never get checked. Whic...

FLUID WARNING

Hi all, just a heads up. Checked my Final drive it was 2 OUNCES LOW, Anti Freeze a couple of slashes low, Motor Oil,JUST REGISTERING ON THE DIP STICK. Wow either Toby the Robot was having a bad day, or someone at Honda isn't paying attention. Wish I would of checked it the day I picked it up.

Re: Test ride

It isn’t for everyone, as it is tight on packing. I just packed mine for a month long trip, I travel alone so I was able to bring what I needed. I myself don’t see Honda changing anything as the dealers are selling them as soon as they get them. I think the gen2 wings will be in demand as well.

Re: 2018 GL1800 Test Ride Report

It’s hard to really get a true experience on a test ride, as I did 4 of them before making my purchase. As for the DCT I felt kind of the same way you did, until I rode for a whole day. The transmission has a memory and will shift accordingly to how you ride. So when you hope on a test ride bike, th...

Re: I-Phone music problem

Thanks Scooter, I did after a couple of ph calls figured it out. To get the Apply Car Play to work, you have to make sure the Blue tooth on the Phone is TURNED OFF. Otherwise the phone will sync to the head set on helmet, what needs to happen is the helmet has to sync to the bike, and then when you ...

NEW TOUR DTC AIR BAG IN THE GARAGE YEA

:D Hi All sad and Very Happy day, trade my 2012 which showed me a lot of trouble free miles and smiles in on a New Tour DCT air bag model. It's a big learning curve, as everything is different along with a lot of new features. So far I have around 500 miles and I must say I absolutely LOVE THIS BIKE...

In my younger day I worked for Honda at dealerships as a Tech. When new model/ Bikes come out the dealership sends some of their Techs to School the learn the new Bikes. If the bike was new as the Wing is They would extensively and go over all the new features of the bike especially the front suspen...

Re: new 2018 yoke bearings not properly torqued at factory

I don’t buy this whole story I think it’s very fishy. I believe the owner would’ve definitely taking it to a dealership. I don’t believe that the bearing races were not seated all the way it would be very easily to back off the Nut that holds these races and bearings tight and simulate this problem ...

Hi all, experience an issue today that I could not figure out when I plug my iPhone 5 in to the 2012 gold wing cable in the trunk it automatically defaults to iTunes music and starts playing whatever music you have chosen on the iPhone. The problem is I was using an app for motorcycles called scenic...

Sorry I took it for granted that the readers knew. It a sheet of metal that bolts to the bottom of the engine section of a gold wing that hopefully protects the engine, oil filter, and mostly the coolant reserve tank.
Hope this helps.

Macgyver Belly Pan

Hi All, I finally bought a Macgyver Belly Pan. I hope this will help others with install. First I've read that others have had the front section Fall Off (Of course while on a Trip). So I did away with the screws it came with and used Cap Screws I also drilled and safety wired them. The screws threa...
