Re: 78 and 79 Goldwings

both the '78 and '79 had mags but the spokes are different even though they are in Honda's comstar shape turn signals are different too. if you have a '78 with spoke wheels someone changed them over cause there was no option for spoke wheels on the '78

Re: got a new bike

well the GSA has plenty of power but the gearing is on the short side even with the 6speed trans. like an 1000 - 1200 wing the big GSA likes to be reved up. took a few miles to get a feel for it but it actually handles quite well, right now the limiting factor is the seat but I plan on getting a sar...

Re: got a new bike

54º and dropping when I arrived and the wind and rain were close behind. I knew we would most likely have bad weather once I got back in Michigan, the weather guessers had been talking about it most of last week

Re: got a new bike

Wow, the ST1100 is history! Sure hope you took the time to ride through the Cuyahoga Valley, that's right next door to that BMW shop, and is some fine, twisty, hilly riding. It's about 15 minutes from my house, fortunately. :) well the weather wasn't so good yesterday and it was even worse going ho...

Re: got a new bike

You must, please, tell us about this bike. I heard it is top heavy. Does the boxer twin have the zip it is reputed to ha ve? How does it feel after an hour on the interstate? Thanks the top heavy feel is due to how tall the bike is, weight wise it's about 530lbs. as for zip I'll have to get back wi...

The coordinates under your avatar says you live between Aksu and Bayingol just off of G217 National rd. Is that in China ? didn't end up getting a BMW yet, going to ...

Re: What's Happening Today?

having the ST 1100 means I want to add a few things to it. didn't have a lot of time but I got the aux lights mounted. I have a set of lights like the lower ones on the Mighty ST 1300 but have to find a different place to mount them on the ST 1100 In many areas, including New Jersey, it's illegal t...

Re: Rain Gear

I have a mix of rain gear depending on the season. being on the Mighty ST 1300 I don't have the luggage capacity of you guys on a wing so I have frog togs for when I need to pack light, I have tourmaster elite pants and a waterproof jacket line for when I have a little more room, and for this time o...

Re: Nice difference with Castrol 20w50 regular oil

when I still owned a 1200 wing I put amsoil 10w 40 in it and mobil 1 10w 40 in my 1500 wing. lets just say that synthetic oil didn't play well in either wing so I went back to castrol. with my ST 1300 I used t6 rotella for a couple of oil changes, shifting was very clunky so I switched to castrol in...

Re: 2nd Annual GoldwingDocs Gathering - Sep 13-16, 2018

I left the hotel at 9:20, and saw detdrbuzzard (William) packing his bike up getting ready to ride. I decided...hey, 555 is right along my route, why not ride it from bottom to top? So that's just what I did. I hopped onto it and rode the length of it, which took almost exactly two hours. 2018-09-1...
