Re: GL 1000 77

I have the same opinion. Keeping the bike as it was will save the exclusive and characteristic shape of the GW. Caferacers etc. never can be as nice and authentic as the original model which also keeps its value better as when modified in some caferacer etc. IMG-20150927-170851.jpg IMGP1537-jpg-ex-k...

Congratulation with your beautiful Goldwing!!!......'77 is a K2...... My '75 GL1000 K1 was originally equipped with low handlebars and a long rear fender (plus mudflap). GW's for Europe incl UK were equipped with long rear fenders and mostly low bars.....for the USA always short fenders and high bar...

@ Wingersparty, This Dutch company (see bottom picture, which stupidly multiplicates itself) has a lot of new and used parts for the GL1000; they are not the cheapest (prices incl 21% VAT), but have an enormous parts stock, are reliable and ship worldwide........... Re: Selected Gear Guage

That's true...............
However if you miss a gear (I seldom do) you are warned at the same time that the indication is wrong for the time being and you have to deal with a situation without indicator as it was before.
All left time (> 95%) you have a handy buddy.

Re: GL1000 weaving, wobbling, wallowing

Hey Dutch kndw, Shortly after the introduction of the GL1000 in 1975 there were a number of heavy accident in the years between 1975 and 1980; some riders died, wobbling was the cause that led to heavy crashes.. It turned out that in most cases it was taking place with GL's that were equipped with a...

Re: Make Gl1000 Headlight Brighter?

Hi virgilmobile, Indeed, you are right with the mode change with quick on /offs. Thanks for your tip ref. the 12 k resistor. However I have these lights as DRL's on both my GL1000 and a Mazda 2 car and in real life (for me) this is not a real problem. WP_20180525_14_45_04_Pro.jpg WP_20180525_15_28_2...
