Re: Pathfinder Sequential LED spoiler
I'm want to install the Pathfinder Sequential LED spoiler on my 2010 GL1800 Audio Comfort. The question I have, I have a BackOff brake modulator installed. Will the spoiler work with the modulator? You should not have any problems with that set up, the lower brake lights go through the C-31 connect...

I have them on my 2013 1800, also had them on my 98 and 07 Yamaha Royal Stars, they really get noticed by the folks behind you.

Re: Trunk delete?
But, why wouldn’t a parts list for a F6B supply me with my objective? May be pricey but wouldn’t that work? You still have not said what wing you are asking about doing this on. The F6B parts can be put on to replace the trunk of the 2012-2017. The saddlebags and taillight are different than the 01...

Re: Remove and Replace the Trunk Lid
So I am curious what caused the cracks? Did you overload the rack at some point? Did you use locktite on the fasteners when installing the rack? Locktite will attach the ABS plastic and cause it to stress crack. One thing you can try doing to stop the cracks is to stop drill them, at the end of each...

Re: Failure!
I had a similar incident, but what fell off hit my wife's foot, quickly looked for missing parts and then realized my fairly expensive Seiko Kenitics wrist watch was gone, suspect the band broke. Knowing it was toast and then most certainly run over many times as we were in heavy traffic, I just mot...

Re: Final drive on GL1800
Looking at the photo of the speedohealer, those are a very common connector style used on motorcycles and some of the easiest one to remove and place the contacts on, I run into some style connectors where the contacts are but impossible to remove. Good job sorting that issue out, it is easy to miss...

Re: Trailer LED conversion
Most isolators are just boxes of relays. They don't care if they are switching incandescent bulbs, LEDs, or electric fans. That is true, but many are made specifically for LEDs and normally state that on the package, some that are not made for use with LEDs require a certain amount of current draw ...

Re: Suspension harshness
My 2013 is harsher than I expected when I picked it up, wife thought it is fine, most of what I felt was through the front forks. I did some research and finally I found the anti-dive valve was stuck. I freed it up and the ride quality was much improved. The anti-dive valve is in the lower portion o...

Re: Final drive on GL1800
Has anyone had any experience with Henry's final drive replacement on a GL1800? Here is a testimony from one of Henry's first customers, I just copied it from another forum, not my words, but words of a very trusted mechanic on the other forum, I hope he does not mind me posting his testimony. Re: Burned out light bulbs...
Those bulbs have been reported on other GL forums as being burned out on a fairly regular basis. I found several of mine on my 2013 burned out a few years ago. Most are not terribly difficult to change, I purchased a new set of bulbs and replaced mine. The bulbs are small peanut style bulbs with fin...

Re: Driver’s headset lead is not working
I am not talking about the cord that plugs into the the bike from the helmet, I am talking about the cable that plugs into the bike’s harness under the left cubby and has the helmet connector on the other end, could be that cable is bad.

Re: Driver’s headset lead is not working
Did you unplug and reconnect the connector in the left fairing pocket?. Sometimes if there is corrosion on the contacts the act of unplugging and reconnecting is enough to scrub the corrosion off. If it is corrosion you may need to get some contact cleaner and spray the connectors. Do you have a rid...

Re: Dealer Won’t Work On MY Bike
I purchased a used ’03 GL1800. It was a little reluctant to start at times but ran well after it did start so I decided to take it to the local dealer to have it “tuned up”. They refused to even look at it saying “We don’t work on anything over eight years old.” I was flabbergasted. I stared checki...

Re: Fuel odor
In the past have you been in the habit of filling the tank above the small vent hole in the filler neck?
That vent goes to a charcoal filled canister, gas can drain into that vent, if the canister has a lot of liquid gas in it you can get fuel odors around the bike.

My concern is that fixing this is going to cause a larger bulk in the harness right where the problem is at its worst. So what is the best way to fix this? Here is a photo from a guy over on GL1800Riders forum, hope it helps. This is a somewhat common issue as the bikes get older, really poor execu...
