Re: Sticking button, Highgway lights. Spray to use?

A fellow rider here in FL had a similar issue, he used just regular canned air to free his, just sprayed it in the gap around the edges of the button bezel. Seems that sometimes it is just dry dirt and what not that makes them stick. Could also try running a thin piece of plastic or maybe shipping t...

Re: Scissors or Bottle Jack, lifting rear of an 1800?

I am in agreement with MikeB, use a proper motorcycle jack, you may find that with that flat tire there may not be enough space to get the jack under the bike, you may need to put a piece of 1x or 2x lumber under the rear wheel just to have enough space for the jack. Also on one the other forums the...

Re: need help getting the correct wiring

No electric brakes. So I can just run up to Autozone and pick up a flat 5 and remove the converter out and I should be good to go as long as I wire it correctly, which should not be any problem. In my opinion it is never a good idea to wire a trailer directly to the bike's wiring. Two reasons, 1) t...

Re: 2015 F6B Sub Harness For Bushtec Trailer

Bushtec and Electrical Connections have a long standing relationship, as at one time the two companies were each owned by brothers. What I do not like about EC's set ups are; 1) They use mechanical relays and not solid state relays. 2) You have to piece together a kit from their various subassemblie...

Re: I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer...

You do need to zoom in on the way points on divided highways, to be sure you picked on the correct side of the road, sometimes you end up on the wrong side and it makes you turn around to get to the other side of the road. I like it also because you can export the route in a couple different file fo...

Re: I know I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer...

Are you using Kurviger with the Scenic? I find Kurviger easy to use for routing, but it does not have an app for use with an iPhone so have yo use Scenic to interface to my routes, Scenic is a resource hog and seems to run the battery down on the iPhone faster than the charger can keep it fully char...

Ok, are you planning on using an isolator or just wiring straight to the bike?

Re: 2015 F6B Sub Harness For Bushtec Trailer

With the help of a fellow rider over on GL1800Riders, I have photos of the connector, I have located a source for the connectors and can see the wire colors well enough to determine the pin out, so in theory I can build a break out harness that will plug in behind the taillight bar and feed the isol...

Re: Sidecar wiring

Rather than depending on someone - just reverse engineer it. It's not too hard to do. If it's a four-wire trailer plug, you'll be able to easily identify the ground pin - it's the female one on the trailer/sidecar side. The one that is enclosed in plastic: towsmart-towing-lights-1441-64_1000.jpg So...

Re: Sidecar wiring

Andy, I know they can speak English, but as you know, some do not want to. I have asked the rider am trying to help to give me feed back as far as which contact in the plug does what on the side car, from there I can build a system, but I have to use a 5 wire isolator to separate the brake function ...

Sidecar wiring

I have been contacted by a fellow rider in Canada who has recently purchased a Fleximum sidecar. He wants to wire it to the bike to take advantage of the lights. Problem is the Fleximums are no longer in production and I can find almost no information on them. The sidecar has a 4 wire trailer plug o...

Excellent, once I can identify the best place to put in a breakout harness I will need some photos.

Re: 2015 F6B Sub Harness For Bushtec Trailer

Wouldn't the main harness part number be different between F6B & GL1800? One might start the search by looking there... Thanks, good suggestion. They are indeed different, the rear combination lights appear to be identical, but have different part numbers, the wiring harness for that rear combi...

Re: Looking For a 2015 F6B Sub Harness

Looking into this a bit more, I am not able to find a free download of the F6B lighting schematic, but I did find that Kuryakyn makes a rear lighting adapter wiring harness, PN 3234 https://www.kuryakyn.com/azureFiles/kuryakyn/19606_1350x900_RGB_72DPI.jpg, this could be used to send signals to a sta...

Re: 2015 F6B Sub Harness For Bushtec Trailer

I believe the connectors are different. All the large aftermarket guys list three separate parts for the trailer harness (2001-2010, 2012-2017 and F6B). That is probably true for their approach, because they graft onto the rear lighting circuits at or near the bulb connections, some of them actuall...

Re: Looking For a 2015 F6B Sub Harness

I am buying a new Bushtec trailer with a 6 pin connection. They currently cannot find a sub harness for an F6B. Does anyone know where I might find one? I've already tried Rivco, JP Cycles, and the most usual spots. Bushtec says the guy that makes their brand is unable to get the plugin to complete...

Re: 2015 F6B Sub Harness For Bushtec Trailer

I do not know if the F6B uses a similar setup as the standard Goldwing, if it has a connector set like the Goldwing's C-31, I could probably develop a breakout harness, but it will require me to get a hold of a wiring diagram and some photos of the connectors once they are identified. I am happy to ...

Re: Rear lights not doing what they are supposed to do. Help

That sounds like a grounding issue, there is a major ground point under the fuel tank that is known to be problematic. It is not easy to get to, but you may to consider checking it. I have read that Honda uses a thread locking compound on that ground point and that inhibits a good ground and results...

So is it the light so \r the TPMS system or the light that indicates the tire pressure is low. Either way I think it sounds like one or both of the batteries in the sensors are ready to die. There is a post here or on one of the other GL forums about replacing the batteries, way cheaper that replaci...
