The question is moot now that it is working again. However, me not knowing if there is a steering lock on your bike when you remove the key, I wonder if the steering was binding the key. If this were true then a mere wiggling of the steering would have freed the key. Of course some lubricant would a...

Thank you all for the suggestions, tips and other resources. Much appreciated. I haven't started as yet. None of the screws were left in place as you have suggested so I don't have that advantage. I forgot to mention before that the plastic was all removed for painting, so even the pieces are in pie...

Thank you Skid56. I have perused some of the other How-to articles but I need a starting place, a frame of reference. I would be elated to find a first-this-then-that plan for reassembly. I am assuming that there is an assembly sequence that has to be followed.
