Re: side cover grommet

Your best option is your local Honda Motorcycle dealer. The price you pay for 1 at the dealer you can get a variety pack from wingstuff.com or cyclemate.com. You will need them later, better to have a couple extra anyway. I wonder what the shipping charge to Australia is from WingStuff.com or Cycle...

As MikeB has posted, $30 is a lot cheaper than buying a new side cover. Wingstuff.com has them also

Before you start gluing the side covers I would try bluthunder31 said, switch the grommets with the other side. Probably you have the wrong ones.

Re: Washed my bike...

I always wash my bike with a pail of soapy water and a garden hose, and dry it with a leaf blower, never had a problem with water doing any damage or getting in any where. It is a touring bike and should be able to get wet without any problems.

Re: LOW FUEL INDICATOR LIGHT

This happens more than you would think. If you don't replace the sending unit just make sure you reset your trip meter after every fill up and at a certain mileage start looking for gas, or when your gas gauge gets low fill up. I always try to fill up at at least 1/4 tank and everytime after a ride ...

Probably the problem with your old alternator is the brushes, you can replace them and keep it as a spare or sell it so someone in need

Re: headphones

If it doesn't work in front or back I would think it is the headset. Do you have access to another bike you can try the headset on? Or another headset you can try on your bike? i don't remember but do you have to set the volume on each setting, outside speakers and headset ?

Re: 1993 gl1500A water pump

You need to drain the oil before you remove the water pump.
Be careful when replacing the water pump, don't over tighten the mounting bolts or the drain plug. It is an easy job.

Re: New (to me) GL1500 1993 aspy

It looks like the right side cover is missing, you can replace it with after market chrome ones. One other thing, I might have missed it in other replies but you need to change the timing belts, if they are original they should be changed right now. The brushes in the alternator are known to stick a...

everyone has their own taste and likes in bikes but a 1200 LT is way top heavy and tall. if you want a great sport/touring bike that is dependavle you should try an ST1300 or an 1800 Gold Wing. But good luck with newest purchase.

lowering the bike will decrease your ground clearance, and that can be bad in the twisties. Maybe get the seat cut down or get boots with thick soles

probably $3500 to $4000 would be a price that it will sell. If there are others for sale in your area you have to price it accordingly. Not sure of this but a long time back someone said you can remove the saddle bag lid by removing the hinges underneath the bag. I don't have an 1800 at the moment so I can't say if it is true or not,. Look under the bag and see if you see any hinges there.
