Re: Older 1500

Unless your getting a great price on it I would look around for one closer, lots of 1500 for sale in our area. Check craigslist. You have to consider the cost of the trip, going there and coming back to Ca. That would not be cheap. This one has been for sale for awhile, you can probably get a good d...

Re: Older 1500

The bike has to have 7,500 miles on it to be registered in Calif because it is not a 50 state bike. When you take it to the DMV to get it registered , and you will have to take it to the DMV, they will want to look at it and you will need to show them the VIN and frame number and motor number. Back ...

Re: Buying a used 2000 SE 25th Anniversary Edition?

I have seen that bike on CL for a few weeks now. Looks nice. ask about timing belts if they have been changed, check tires for wear and production date, ask about when coolant and air filters were changed. make sure all the switches work and do not stick, a common problem, ask about service records....

Re: Valve adjustment necessary at 51000 miles?

Most that have it done say no adjustments were required. It is a good idea to have it checked at least once. If you want to save a little have the dealer check the valves and do the oil and air filter change yourself.

Re: Oops, this one went way too far!

stuff happens. A few years back a riding buddy told me on his way home from a ride he noticed his 05 wing was getting a wobble. I said he probably lost a wheel weight and I would come over and check it out. As I approached his garage and his bike was on the centerstand I noticed a bald spot on the r...

Re: 95 Goldwing

When I buy a used bike and I have bought about 8 wings and several other bikes, I always change the oil, fluids, plugs, and all filters. Not a big deal. I always ask about the tires because that adds to the total price I have in the bike. When I show up I'm ready to buy and ride it home, the seller ...

Re: 95 Goldwing

He had it posted on facebook market place but now I found it on craigslist. Nice looking bike, has several pictures of it, the only draw back I can see is he says the tires are 8 - 10 years old so they would have to be replaced now. That would be around $500. I would be tempted if he would take $2000.

Just get an 1800 wing. Or if you really a fast sports/touring bike get a Kawasaki Concours 1400.

Re: 95 Goldwing

A person I know is selling his 1995 1500 with only 44,000 miles on it. I test drove it and it seems to run perfect. I was wondering if anyone has any input/opinion on buying a bike considering the age and mileage. I think I saw that ad. Was it white? If it was the same one I saw it was a great deal...

Re: Goldwing Service Shops in the LA / Orange County area.

Herm at Escondido Cycle center has been there a long time and has a great reputation for working on Gold Wings. When Rick had his shop, wingstuff in Orange County it was a great place to go. But like all good things, it no longer has a service department that I know of. You might want to contact the...

Re: Heated Grip not Working

Most likely it is a broken wire as keithsaid. But it doesn't hurt to try the easy stuff first but do not use WD40, use contact cleaner. WD 40 is a lubricant and will attract dirt and dust.

Re: Fog / turn lights

You can look at the blank plates and see what holds them in, it is the bits of plastic. Lots of room behind it. Only a couple screws holds it on, take it off and check it out, not a big job.

I had a set on my 92 Wing. of course they have improved a lot since then, but make sure what ever set you get that the trunk can open without opening the arm rests.

You could get a black rubber one from an auto parts store and cut it to fit,. I had a rubber extension on the chrome one on my 08.

Re: Popping noise

Personally I would stay away from anything older than an 05 wing. Frame cracking is a problem even if the recall has been completed. They are cracking in places that Honda have fixed under the recall. Take a real close at the frame behind the passenger foot rests and other places that it is welded a...
