Give the troll some credit...he had to search through 5 1/2 years of posts to find that!
I didn't even notice the date of the thread. Some jerks just can't help themselves.

You have them connected to the wrong wires. Use the solid orange & light blue, not the striped ones. The orange/white & lt blue/white are the front position lights and behave like you describe.

Ok so I have a 1976 Honda Gl1000 and I only have spark on 3/4, no spark on 1/2. I have new spark plugs, spark plug caps, fuse battery, and solenoid. Both coils read in the normal range. When I switch the wires 1/2 sparks. So what is casusing this?
Which wires are you switching?

I thought the pilot screws on our Wings was an "air" screw, not a "fuel" screw. I thought that if the screw is on the engine side of the butterfly it would be a fuel screw...ours are on the outside of the butterfly. You can see the tip of the screw if you pull off an intake tube. Winding the screw ...

The green wires are ground wires for the RR, they can be left loose but bolting them to ground would be a good thing.

Re: GL1800 Reverse issues

Have a good look at the connectors to the control unit, sometimes a terminal will get pushed back out of a connector and not make good contact. Also look at the pins in the control unit and make sure they are all straight.

Does it have points or has it been converted to electronic ignition? There is a ballast resistor before the coils so 7v might be normal.

I never unplug those things when doing an air filter, just lay them over out of the way, mounting bracket and all.

Re: Model Variations and Foglights

Air bag should be pretty obvious. The lens is glass but I think the housing is plastic, don't remember. Most of them have been LED for a long time now, probably some still around with halogen bulbs. They don't cast much light on the road but if you put in LED headlight bulbs you don't need it anyway.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quick. I found a vin number, one on the left side of the neck and one on the right side of the neck. I eat her a video on the subject and it said the one on the left would be the vin for the frame.,when it was made. It also said that to find out what year the bi...

I went and changed my air filter at my nephews big shed, all went better than I thought it would, and when I went to back it into a different shed it wouldn’t back over a 1” lip at the front of door. Can’t say I’ve had trouble before except occasionally not going in reverse. Could it be as simple a...

Did you unplug the cruise/reverse control module? It's on top of the air cleaner. Does the cruise work?

Re: TPMS

Are you checking the pressures cold as you should? I suspect they are right at the lower limit and when the tires warm up the pressure rises enough to turn the light off. The front will cause a light at about 32 psi, the rear at about 36psi.

That's kind of a common thing on 1100s. Water gets inside that cross piece somehow and rusts it out from the inside.

Re: Odd Start Up Problem

Turns out there was almost none going from 12.2 to 12.1 (I think battery is on the way out anyway given how much its holding) but oddly the lights all dimmed too. The headlight going out has nothing to do with starting, there is a separate contact in the start switch that shuts off the headlight. I...
