Unless the floats don't float or are damaged, you shouldn't need 'floats'

Make sure you don't have the mic gain set real high, that may be a part of the problem?? I'd check with Sierra Electronics and see if they can help.....

Re: Radio issue

When you turn the bars and it doesn't come on, did you check for power then? (without changing anything) Could be a broken wire making intermittent connection?

Might try Sierra, they may be a source. I've used them before and have been satisfied.

Re: Runs for 2 seconds

There is fuel in the bowls, not sure how much. When I loosen the drain screw fuel comes out. I saw a trick somewhere, take the drain screws out replace with a barbed hose fitting, attach clear hose to the barbed fitting, secure clear hose up along the side. This arrangement allows you to view the l...

Re: Saddlebag Mounts

All 1200 saddlebag models use the same part number 'Saddlebag Stay'. If you are looking for some you could try http://straightwings.com/ they are a good source of used parts, from my experience.

In the '86 toolkit.

Re: GL1200LTD restoration - rear brakes question

I just finished rebuilding all the brake cylinders on my '86. Check for the service limits on the bores, if ok no need for new unless somethings broke. All the brake rebuild parts I got from the following.... https://newmotorcycleparts.net/ They provided factory type parts from K&L, which I thin...

Re: 1983 GL1100 Brake flush gone bad - linked brake system

I just had the similar experience with my '86 on the front, using the vacuum method. Found the caliper pistons had been pulled all the way in and it stopped the flow to a minimum (as in a drip or so). I resorted to pushing the fluid up from the caliper to the master, then pumped out the pistons by u...

According to the instructions for the kit I bought, it keeps the red lenses, use acetone and a stiff brush to remove the silver paint. I wouldn't soak the lenses in acetone, just brush the silver off and rinse.

Timing belt idler(s). Try running it more, mine got quieter after about 200 miles. The other way is to replace them.

The picture you provided is labeled Limited Edition on the saddle bag, if this is the case you have a Gl1200 LTD. The LTD has three manuals you'll probably need, before all said and done. The mechanical Honda Service Manual, the Electrical Service Manual and last the Supplemental Manual for the fuel...
