Ive been having carb problems , i thought, but i believe its a coil problem now. The front two cylinders started not to fire so i pulled the plug wire off the rt. Front cylinder part way and it started to kick in. Did the same thing to the other side and got the same results. Put them both back on a...

#3cylinder hotter than the rest

I just finished cleaning out my carbs again and i noticed that #3 exhaust was hotter than #1 exhaust. I synced my carbs again and got them on the money. But #3 is still way hotter trhan #1. If i pull the plug wires off one at a time it will bog down each time i drop a cylinder. But when i pull off #...

Re: 83 interstate, fuel or electrical?

Ok. So I pulled the carbs off again and put the old jets back in after I boiled them out and it STILL sounds the same. Ill try to sync the carbs again and see what happens , but I dont believe it will make a difference again. I wish I had another 1100 to listen to. I had a 84 I bought new but thats ...

Re: 83 interstate, fuel or electrical?

well that got rid of the high end miss. I resynced the carbs and it still sounds like a constant slight low end miss. Now when I pull a plug wire one at a time it almost stalls when I pull #2,but just misses when I pull the other three and it still smells rich . Float level? air mixture? Any comment...

Re: 83 interstate, fuel or electrical?

first I checked the wire connectors and did the three yellow wires as needed.I did a compression test and all are ok. I then took the carbs back off and decided to take the top off the carbs. I then checked the upper slides and found that there was a small dent in the #3 cap that had the slide stuck...

If it is spark then both coils doing the same thing? What s...

83 interstate, fuel or electrical?

carbs have been rebuilt, new spark plugs, air screws set at factory seeings but still has a miss. Pulled off a plug wire one at a time and cant tell any difference. Carbs have been synced, choke is opened all the way. I have ran it for quite some time and then pulled the plugs and they are all black...
