fairing options for 1979 gl1000

Hello,

I'm looking for a fairing other than a windjammer. Has anyone tried the Arlen Ness Bob Dron fairing for a 1979 honda gl1000? If so how hard was it to make work?

While riding the bike the gauge dropped back down to the quarter tank that it showed the day before. When I stopped to park the gauge climbed back up to full. What has gone out and what do I need ...

mushy front forks

I'm slowly working my way thru my 1979 gl1000. The front forks are mushy. What are the steps of determining what needs done? Is there a way to stiffen them, or do they need to be dismantled and resealed? I havent found a good source of information yet.

The front brake master cylinder on my 1979 honda gl1000 is mushy and needs replaced. I have bought a new product for this model vs rebuilding. What is the easiest way to switch and if bleeding is necessary is a step by step process for novices?

what original blinker looks like and connects

I have a 1979 honda gl 1000. When I purchased it it was fairly stripped down with no front blinkers. The manual I have doesnt give a good understanding on where the blinker is attached or how and nothing on the front to make it clear. What is the original blinker and how did it attach to the bike. Re: how to strip paint from the tank shields 1979 honda

The concern I have is that the paint is bubbled on the tank shields and there are some large chips in the paint. I want to strip off the old and repaint. What is the best way to strip paint off of plastic without damaging the plastic.

Re: Speedometer housing on front wheel

Thank you folks. I did find it on ebay fairly clean for 22 but it is great to learn there are new options.

What are several sights to look into for possible new parts in the future. Ebay is my first goto but like the idea of new for some options.

Thank you,

Those are all great pieces of information. I will attack the fuel filter, and plugs this weekend and ask a friend about the vacuum. Would you also recommend syncing the carbs for good measure?
